NWEA MAP Testing
Beginning January 10th, your child will take a MAP Growth Test in both reading and math. MAP stands for Measures of Academic Progress. Students take this test on the computer three times throughout the school year. MAP Growth scores help teachers check student performance by measuring achievement and growth. Teachers use results to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for students. MAP tests are unique and adapts to your child’s responses to measure your child’s skill level. If your child answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next one is easier. These results will provide a more complete picture of what your child knows and is ready to learn. To help ensure your child does their best learning, please make sure your child gets plenty of sleep and eats a healthy breakfast either at home or at school. Thank you.
Celebration
We met our SEL goal of earing 50 golden paws by keeping our hands, feet, and other objects to ourself on the playground! We celebrated by having a schoolwide pajama party and movie day. We had so much fun!
Lexia Challenge
Ridgewood Students are participating in a “Lexia Land” Challenge. We are tracking which class earns the most certificates during the 2nd Quarter. This challenge will help each of us grow in our reading while having a fun competition. Each week, students who earn a certificate in Lexia, will get their name up on the “Lexia Land” bulletin board. The class with the most students earning certificates for 2nd Quarter will be our winner! The winning class will earn a Game Day! Students will get to bring in board games from home to play in class. Below are some resources to more about Lexia and to help support your child at home!
e-Learning Days
As winter weather is approaching fast, it is a good time to revisit our district's e-Learning Plan. An e-Learning day is where students are learning from home and connecting with teachers for LIVE lessons through Chromebooks. If weather conditions are too severe for anyone to travel, an e-Learning day will be announced. These were previously called “snow days.” Click the links below to learn more!
