Volunteers Still Needed For NEIFB!
Our first Volunteer Night at the Northeast Iowa Food Bank will be on Tonight Thursday, September 4th, from 6:00–7:30 P.M. At this point we have only 1 family signed up to help, so please consider helping out tonight. If you’d like to join us, please contact Erin Youngblut at erinyoungblut@gmail.com
This is a great opportunity to give back to our community, and it also counts toward service hour requirements for students in grades 5–8. Volunteers of all ages (Kindergarten and up) are welcome!
School Picture Day
School Picture Day this year will be on Tuesday, September 23rd and Wednesday the 24th. More details will be coming soon!
Football Bash 2025 🏈
Just a reminder that Football Bash tickets need to be turned in by Friday, September 5th, in order to be eligible for Week 1 games.
Public Library Usage
Students walking to the Cedar Falls Public Library after school are asked to abide by the libraries policies regarding unaccompanied minors. Please review their policy below, and if your child is utilizing the library as a safe space for after school activities, we ask that they are being respectful, as they are a reflection of St. Patrick School, and that they are following the rules as posted. Listed below is the CFPL policy on unaccompanied minors at the library:
CEDAR FALLS PUBLIC LIBRARY
Safe Child Policy
The Cedar Falls Public Library is not responsible for unattended children: The Library cannot ensure the safety of any library patron of any age. Library staff duties cannot include babysitting or taking over any parental responsibilities for children in the library. While the Cedar Falls Public Library is concerned about the safety and welfare of all children, parents and caregivers are responsible for the children’s safety and welfare and for monitoring children’s activities and behavior.
Children ten and under must be under direct visual supervision by a parent or responsible caregiver at all times while in the library. Parents or caregivers are responsible for the safety and appropriate behavior of each child in their care. Parents or caregivers cannot leave young children unattended in the Youth Department or any other library department while using other parts of the library.
Children or groups of children visiting the library from any preschool, child care or babysitting facility must be under direct visual supervision at all times by caregivers to ensure safety and to monitor behavior.

Lego League Coaches Needed
We are in need of coaches for Lego League. If you are interested in coaching 5th-8th graders on a Lego League Challenge team, please contact Melinda Neumann, clayton.melinda@gmail.com, by Monday, September 8. We will not be able to have a team without parent coaches.
This team meets in the fall semester with a competition in early December. Meetings are typically 1.5-2 hours long once a week. Meeting time will be determined based on coach availability. We need a minimum of two parent coaches, with one willing to be the lead coach. It is helpful if at least one parent is comfortable learning basic Lego coding to assist students with programming the robot.
A separate sign up will come out later for the Lego League Explore program for younger grades.
