Spirit Week is such a magical time of year, and it’s something we definitely need to do more often! Students and staff certainly delivered with their creative looks and outfits throughout the week. Monday kicked things off with Sports Day, followed by Students Dress Like Teachers/Teachers Dress Like Students on Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, and Anything But a Backpack Thursday. It was such a fun way to shake things up, give students an opportunity to express themselves, and bring extra joy and silliness to our learning environment. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make it an epic week full of school spirit!

K-2nd, and 6th Book Buddies: Young Readers Connect Across GradesπŸ“šπŸ“‘πŸ“™πŸΆ K-2nd, and 6th Book Buddies: Young Readers Connect Across GradesπŸ“šπŸ“‘πŸ“™πŸΆ

Book Buddies is an important tradition here at GCS. We value connections and learning across grade levels because they not only encourage collaborative conversations, but also foster a strong sense of belonging for all of our students. We are fortunate to have such kind and caring 6th graders who serve as role models for our younger students each and every day. Book Buddies is just one example of that leadership in action. We look forward to continuing this meaningful tradition for years to come!

A Day of Culture and Curiosity for 3rd-6th at the Denver Art Museum 🎨🎭 A Day of Culture and Curiosity for 3rd-6th at the Denver Art Museum 🎨🎭

The Denver Art Museum field trip last week was truly a tremendous experience for our students. Students and staff were divided into groups to explore a variety of art genres and exhibits, including Impressionism, Realism, Modern Art, Western Art, and Design Art. After exploring the museum, students were given the opportunity to create their own artwork inspired by the themes and genres they experienced throughout the day. This was a fantastic hands-on learning experience for our 3rd–6th grade students, and we are already looking forward to returning next year!

4th & 5th Say Farewell to their Beloved Student Teacher, Ms. Aerah Fulton 4th & 5th Say Farewell to their Beloved Student Teacher, Ms. Aerah Fulton

We have mixed feelings as we say goodbye to our fantastic student teacher, Ms. Aerah Fulton. While we are sad to see her leave GCS, we are incredibly excited for her next chapter at Utah State University and the new learning experiences that await her. Aerah has a special connection to Georgetown Community School, she was once a student here herself. After continuing her education at Clear Creek High School, she felt called to return to GCS to complete her student teaching internship in the very place where her own educational journey began. During her time with us, Aerah brought enthusiasm, care, and a genuine passion for working with students. She will be deeply missed by staff and students alike. As she moves forward, we are so proud of her accomplishments and excited to see all that she will achieve in her academic and professional journey ahead.
