Jag Parent Updated News

During our first nine weeks, our school-wide focus was on building positive cafeteria expectations. Our goal has been to create a friendly, welcoming environment where students can enjoy socializing with peers while practicing good table manners, using respectful voices, and keeping our cafeteria clean.

The Votes Are In! 🗳️ To help make these expectations stick, our students recently voted on a brand-new cafeteria poster. The votes have been counted, and our students have chosen the winning design! We love seeing our Jaguars take ownership of our school culture.

What’s Next? 🚽 As we move forward, our next area of focus will be bathroom rules and expectations to ensure our restrooms remain safe, clean, and respectful spaces for all students.

Celebrating a Fantastic First Nine Weeks!

What a way to end the quarter! Here is a quick look at what your PTA has accomplished in the first nine weeks thanks to your support:

• School Supply Packs: We packaged and sold supplies, donating multiple extra packs to every grade level for students and teachers.

• Spirit Nights: We hosted 5 Spirit Nights and raised over $800 for our school!

• Teacher Appreciation: We celebrated our staff with 4 special appreciation events.

• Field Trips: We fully funded 1 field trip and committed to funding 6 more—ensuring every single student gets an off-campus learning experience this year!

• PTA Membership: We are at 81 members toward our goal of 129 (nearly two-thirds of the way there!).

• Dudes at the Door: Our volunteers have greeted students twice with morning music, bubbles, and high fives at carpool! One of our awesome Dudes even helped change a tire!

I know our most dedicated readers noticed we didn’t update last week, and I want to apologize for the short break. I just needed a few days to process how amazing the Dinosaur George & STEM Night experience was! Even if you weren’t able to join us in person, I hope your child loved seeing the dinosaurs up close and hearing from Dinosaur George during the school day. The Jackson PTA is thrilled to sponsor these kinds of programs, and we have more exciting events planned for the rest of the year!

Looking Ahead: What’s Coming Up Next

We’re not slowing down! In the second nine weeks, look forward to:

• Charleston Wrap Fundraiser

• 2 more Dudes at the Door mornings

• 4 more Spirit Nights (I hope you were able to join us this past Wednesday at McDonald's!)

• Free grade-level Jackson T-shirts delivered to every student on campus!

• A Community Movie Night

• Celebrating our incredible staff during the 12 Days of Joy in December!

Keep an eye out for flyers coming home in your student’s backpack with details on how to get involved.
