From the Principal's Desk

Dear Young Elementary Families,

Another great week at Young Elementary! You will begin to see your child’s student growth reports coming home this week and next week. We are so excited to provide you with this information and can’t wait to see the incredible growth our students will show by January.

We had an amazing Field Day and appreciate all of the parents who came out to cheer on and support their children. It was a wonderful day of fun, teamwork, and school spirit!

Looking ahead, next week is Homecoming Week! We encourage everyone to participate in the daily dress-up themes and show off that Eagle Pride.

Thank you for your continued support of our students and school!

Sincerely,
Andrew Hohman
Principal, Young Elementary

Parent Guide to Success

Shoes That Fit Fundraiser Shoes That Fit Fundraiser

A message from Coach Harrison!

Help us ensure every child comes to school with confidence and comfort! Many students in our community lack properly fitting shoes, which impacts their ability to learn, play, and thrive. By supporting our Shoes That Fit Fundraiser, you’ll provide new, well-fitting shoes to children who need them most. Together, we can make sure no child is held back by something as simple as shoes.

Every dollar makes a difference—thank you for helping us change lives, one pair at a time!

Keep having conversations at home that talk about what being responsible looks like and sounds like at school and outside of school! Our students have been so excited to get to put a leaf with their name on it on our big "Rooted in Character" tree in the hallway for everyone to see! 🌳💙

In Counseling Lessons This Week... In Counseling Lessons This Week...

This week is all about RESPONSIBILITY! We are really driving home the character trait of the month this week!

3rd grade- We will read "Chairs on Strike" and discuss how making sure we take care of our things and our supplies is part of being responsible. We will also write out our pledge to be responsible- highlighting one way they are going to be responsible in the upcoming weeks!

4th grade- We will read "But It's Not My Fault" and discuss how we are responsible for the decisions we make. Putting the blame on others is not being responsible. Students will participate in an activity where we determine how we can take ownership of our choices- even the bad ones- and make it right.

5th grade- We will read "What If Everybody Did That?" and discuss what would happen if we didn’t do our part to take care of our community or treat others with kindness? Students will then come up with something positive we wish everybody did that would make our world a great place to live!
