Low Ash Primary

Weekly round up

Low Ash PrimaryWeekly round up

23.10.26 23.10.26

It has been a wonderfully busy half term at Low Ash with children taking part in a wide range of learning experiences, trips and enrichment activities. The enthusiasm, resilience and positivity shown by our pupils has been a real credit to them.

Today we say goodbye and good luck to Miss Coope who has been working at Low Ash for 15 years. We wish her every happiness and success in her new role at a school in Leeds where we are sure she will make her mark with her strong relationships with pupils and incredible talent for arts and crafts.

We wish everyone a relaxing and well-deserved break and look forward to an equally exciting half term ahead, filled with new opportunities and experiences for every child.

Golden Learners Golden Learners

Shipley Showcase trips Shipley Showcase trips

Year 2 went on a walk to identify the different types of houses that are in our local area. The children enjoyed making a tally of all of the houses that they saw and discussed them with their partner.

Y3 loved their field trip to Shipley railway station earlier this week. They saw lots of different types of traffic, main roads and residential roads as well as train tracks. 3SB were even lucky enough to see the London train! Year 3 discussed similarities and differences between the modes of transport and thought about ways to improve them.

Orchard Class had a fantastic time travelling on the minibus for Shipley Showcase. Before their journey they learnt some Makaton signs for singing The Wheels on the Bus. During the journey on the minibus, the children spotted lots of important places and people who help to keep them safe in the community. They drove past the fire station and police station and pressed the sound button which made a siren noise. They were very excited to see an ambulance drive past with its blue lights flashing! They ended their journey seeing and making the sounds of the animals they could spot on Shipley Glen. In class the children have been making their own fire engine, painting police cars and identifying emergency workers.

Y5 enjoyed a Geography field trip to Northcliffe Park and Shipley Glen, exploring how local green spaces are used by the community. The children investigated the different activities people enjoy in these spaces and considered why they are so important to local people and the environment.
