News From the Nurseā¦
YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR CHILDāS MEDICATION!
Medication must be picked up by a parent/guardian by the end of the school day on or before June 11th. All remaining medication will be properly disposed of.
Reminder for next school year:
If your child will require medication during the 2026/2027 school year, a new Medication Authorization form or a new Action plan needs to be completed. You can find the link to these Health forms and Action plans here
*If your child has a chronic medical condition that may result in an emergency situation (Seizures, Anaphylactic Allergies, Type 1 Diabetes, Asthma, etc.), please inform your childās school and ensure you have an up to date medical plan on file prior to the start of the 2026/2027 school year. A new plan is required on a yearly basis or if any changes are made to the plan throughout the year.
Have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you next year!
From The Principal
Happy Memorial Day Weekend Hawkins,
What a huge swing in weather this week, from me sending out sunscreen policies to back in winter coats. The building is looking very festive with all of the hot air balloons, and I loved second grades poetry cafe. A lot will be happening these last few weeks, so please read your classroom newsletters carefully. One item I wanted to mention for planning is lunch on the last day of school. On the last day dismissal is at 12:50 which is a long time for some of our students to go without lunch. In the past we have had snacks available, but this year we will be providing one slice of pizza for each child to help them get through the morning. If you think your child will want more than that, please pack extras. I donāt know a time for the lunches yet, as having 80 pizzas delivered takes a little planning.
I wanted to thank all of the volunteers for their help with running club. This has been such a huge success and the students love it. This is that time when it is good to get a head start on taking unneeded items home from lockers. I want to take a moment to thank all who have served our country. Serving in the military is a tremendous act of patriotism, and the sacrifices they make for all of us allow us to enjoy the blessing we have. You are truly appreciated. On a personal note, I learned that my oldest daughter is pregnant and will be having a boy. Grandpa duties are waiting for me. Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy family.
Have a great weekend!
Mr. McAuliffe

Hawkins for 2026 Field Day volunteers. Click the link below to sign up https://tinyurl.com/2026HawkinsFieldDay
Please check in with your license at the front office to receive your badge and you will be directed straight to the field for your event station or to meet up with your class.
Mr. Richards has requested parents sign up for specific stations and we will have an AM and PM shift for each. We also need 1,200 water balloons for the event. You may bring them pre-filled or there is 1 spigot attached to the shed that you can use to fill on site.
Lunch + drinks will be provided by the Hawkins PTO for all volunteers.
**We are also in need of parent volunteers for each class as well (one AM, one PM) to travel with the class to each field day activity --> If you DO volunteer for this, please add to the comments section of your sign up whether or not you can bring a wagon to cart around the kid's water bottles throughout the day**

Thank You Mr. Morningstar!
From Mrs. Walsh:
"Mr. Morningstar offered to help out in our classroom earlier in the year and we have been so grateful to have him. He always brings his knowledge, smile, and caring attitude to our classroom. No matter who sits down next to him, he makes the math lesson personalized and so much fun for them. It has been so cool to see my fourth graders connect with Mr. Morningstar and all of us work together to master tricky math concepts. He is so knowledgeable about math, learning, and teaching, I feel honored to have spent time learning from him and supporting my math learners."
From the kids:
- "He is very nice and kind and helpful. He helps Ms. Walsh out when we make groups. He is always up to help people." -Evalynn M
- He is very kind and he is funny. Sometimes when I work with him he tells jokes during math." -Jaxon C

Just-In-Case Clothes
Please make sure your child has an extra set of clothes in their backpack. Accidents happen while your child is at school (bathroom accidents, playground mishaps, lunchroom spills, ripped or torn clothes, etc.) and we do not have extra clothes to lend out. Having an extra set here at school saves parents from having to make a trip to Hawkins during the day. We appreciate your help!
Parent Volunteers
All parent volunteers must undergo a background check in order to volunteer at Hawkins. If you have not done so yet and are planning on volunteering at Hawkins, click on the link below to access Brighton Area Schools Background Check Form.

Please click on the link for more information.
Email, Phone Number, and Address Changes
If you need to change a contact phone number or email address you can do so through Parent. Connect at Parent Connect
If you do not know your Parent Connect login information, please follow the instructions on the Brighton Area Schools website.
PLEASE NOTE: Address changes CANNOT be completed through Parent Connect. Address changes must be completed by filling out a change of address form along with 3 copies of proof of residency. Details are listed on the change of address form which is available by clicking on the link below.
