There will be no school on Monday, February 16.
We are excited to participate in Read Across America Week each year. This week highlights the importance of children's books and the importance of reading. We invite students to participate in any of the following themed days:
Monday, March 2: Cat in the Hat (hat day)
Tuesday, March 3: The Lorax (pick up trash outside, make the space beautiful)
Wednesday, March 4: Ten Apples Up on Top (wear red)
Thursday, March 5: Green Eggs and Ham (wear green)
Friday, March 6: Oh the Places You Will Go (wear your favorite college jersey or dress up for career day)
Please put your child's name on all hoodies, jackets, coats, water bottles, lunch boxes, etc. Please check all new items your child received for Christmas and add their names to the items. We have over 400 students in the building, and we can easily return lost items to your child if their name is on it. When there is no name it is extremely difficult to get the item to the correct child.
Students who meet their 3rd Quarter AR goal in 2nd-5th grades, read at least 15 books for their reading log in 1st grade, and meet their sight word goal in Kindergarten will be invited to a Spring Fling Party with Mrs. Bird!
The dead line to meet these goals is Wednesday, March 11. Happy Reading!
