Douglas County School District takes the safety of our students, staff, parents and community members seriously. Our district is huge - spanning approximately 850 square miles - and conditions can vary from one region to another. Because many of our families and staff travel across the school district, any weather delay or closure will apply to the entire school district (unless otherwise indicated). Read more about how weather delays and closures are determined in DCSD.

Making Leaders and Memories at Team DCSD’s Super Summit

In November, DCSD students demonstrated extraordinary leadership and spirit at the annual Continental League Super Summit, a collaborative student leadership conference bringing together high school leaders from across Douglas County. More than 400 students participated in the daylong event, engaging in a wide variety of breakout sessions designed to inspire, empower and strengthen school communities. The event was proudly led by student ambassador teams and Activities Directors from Castle View, Chaparral, Legend, Mountain Vista and Ponderosa High Schools, who worked collaboratively to create a meaningful experience for all attendees.

DCSD is excited to launch a Twice Exceptional (2e) Advisory Cadre. We are seeking dedicated school and district staff with diverse backgrounds and expertise to join our inaugural group. The cadre will work collaboratively to provide recommendations to DCSD leadership to support our twice-exceptional students. If you are a DCSD staff member interested in contributing to this important initiative, please consider joining us by completing the DCSD 2e Cadre Self-nomination Form.
