Important Information about Student Chromebooks! Important Information about Student Chromebooks!

Parents,

This year we will be charging for computer damage and replacements. Please review the following guidelines with your child to minimize damage to Chromebooks:

-Your child is responsible for broken/lost devices. To avoid damage by friends or siblings, they should not allow anyone to borrow their chromebook or chargers.

-Computers should not be left open and unattended. When not in use, they should be closed, zipped in their case, and put away.

-Computers should be charged at home, so they are ready for school the next day. When possible, leave the charger at home to minimize loss.

- Computers should be in their work-in case at all times

-Computers should not be open when walking, outside, or on the bus.

-Check your Chromebook before closing it! Make sure there are no small objects that could break your screen- earbuds, pencils, etc.

-Do not eat or drink near the computer.

-Do not pick at the keyboard. If a key is stuck or a mousepad is not working, please bring it to the office.

When you request a new computer, case, or charger, please turn in the old one to the office.

Padres,

SES Kindness Week: September 6th - 9th SES Kindness Week: September 6th - 9th

To honor our mental health and encourage kindness and patience with one another, we are going to be celebrating kindness week. We are participating in Kindenss week to recognize National Suicide Prevention Week (9/4-9/10) and World Suicide Prevention Day (9/10), in an elementary friendly way.

Throughout the week, we will be talking about how everyone matters and belongs here and why it is important to be kind to one another. We will focus on being kind to our peers, our family, teachers, and ourselves. Each day students will be presented with a ‘kindness challenge” to help foster and grow our caring culture here at SES. We will also have some fun by having some dress up days as well! Please see the schedule below for more details.

Students will also participate in a bully prevention discussion this week. This presentation helps students understand the 3 criteria that classify actions as bullying:

  • The action must be intentionally mean

  • The action must be repeated

  • There must be an imbalance of power in the exchange

We want students to be able to recognize bullying when it is occurring and take steps to get help to ensure that it does not continue.

If you or any loved ones are struggling during this time here are some resources that can help.

Dear Parents/Guardians of second and fifth grade students:

We need additional information on the academic needs and performance of

individual students in order to provide instruction at the appropriate level for

each child. All second and fifth grade students will take a standardized test to

begin to collect this information. The testing will take place in September and

is the first step in our high ability screening. If you have any questions

regarding testing, please contact Kim Jovic at: kjovic@perryschools.org.
