Dear Wauwatosa Montessori School Community:

Next week on Friday, November 15th in the afternoon our school is proudly hosting the American Montessori Society Director of Teacher Education, Melina Papadimitrou and Global Montessori Educators Institute Program Director, Linda Loomis for lunch, a tour, and classroom observations. Following this on November 16th, several members of our team are participating in deep Montessori professional learning at the AMS Regional Symposium including Yifan Zheng, Shannon Kobinsky, Courtney Brown, Susan Starkman, and myself! We are looking forward to bringing our learning back to our school to grow our Montessori practices and further our impact on our students and community.

Additionally, next week we have our Upper Elementary and Adolescent Program Nature's Classroom Institute Trip! We are very excited for the environmental educational experiences that the students will engage in while on the trip, and we are thrilled about the environmental educational experiences students will engage in at school as well! Thank you to all the staff who have been so engaged in planning, especially Ms. Dawson, Ms. Emily, and Ms. Susan! Thank you very much to all the parent chaperones!

I have a fun fact to share if you haven't heard about this yet. Our amazing LE1 Teacher, Ms. Yifan Zheng, has a shop called Buzz Montessori. She has generously offered to run a fundraiser for the Green Team and the Nature's Classroom Institute trip. Here is a link to the shop. From now until November 18th, any orders placed through the Buzz Montessori shop will contribute 25% of sales directly to our school’s sustainability educational programs. After November 18th, Ms. Yifan and her students will personally help with delivering all orders, adding a nice, hands-on element for them as well. Here’s the order link: Order Form. On a related note, our Adolescent Program is continuing to take orders on their calendar sales. AP is selling special 2025 calendars to raise money for NCI! Pre-order yours today here.
