Nederland Middle-Senior HS Community,

We just finished our first full week of school and it all feels very positive. The teachers have commented that their students are getting back into the swing of things very easily. We started the week with our Back To School Night. Everyone was very happy with the turnout. As I mentioned at the middle and high school parent meetings we want to encourage more community involvement and participation this school year. As the semester rolls out we will be keeping you aware of the different ways you can help.

High School Lunch

This year we are allowing an open campus lunch for 10th, 11th and 12th grade students. This is a similar practice at the other high schools in BVSD. Freshmen are required to stay on campus for lunch.

Have a great weekend!

The PTA Needs parents like YOU!

Welcome back Panther Pack! Hopefully your students are getting settled into their routines by now. Back to School Night was a huge success - we more than doubled our PTA membership and have more involved parents than ever before! We raffled off several NMSHS swag bags, and our $200 grand prize goes to Andrea Begin! Congratulations!

Our first meeting of the year is coming up on September 5 at 6pm in the NMSHS library. We have lots of information and fun things planned for this year. Our first event will be the Homecoming BBQ on September 28.

It’s not too late to support your student by becoming a PTA member and having your voice heard! In addition to parents and community members, we welcome teachers and staff to join PTA! Come out and meet staff and other parents, and see what we’re all about!

Although school meals are free, we strongly encourage eligible families to fill out the Free and Reduced Price School Meal application; doing so might qualify your family for reduced fees and impact funding for your school. If your family received an email with a F&R notification letter for the 2024-25 school year through DirectCert, you must fill out the sharing form linked within the letter to share your status with your school to receive benefits.

If you have not received a notification letter and your household income is within the guidelines to qualify (found on right side of FRL webpage), fill out the Free & Reduced Price School Meal application found in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal of Infinite Campus under More > Meal Benefits. More program info can be found on our site. If you have questions, please contact Lola Campos-Herzfeld at dolores.campos-herzf@bvsd.org.
