Principal Corner

November is here! We have three full weeks of on-site learning before another break.

Thank you for being patient with our car line last week. The rainy days can make the line move slower. Just a reminder that if you are dropping off on the side of the school, pull all the way forward. We can unload over 10 cars at a time if everyone will move forward all the way and students all the way down the sidewalk exit their vehicle at the same time. Students can walk in either hallway door. They do not have to go to the door closest to their classroom.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT- We will have a technology home check on Monday, November 2. Teachers will send a short assignment to make sure the device works at home. The purpose of this is to check to see if devices work at home in case we have a closure due to Covid. If your child has already brought their device home, they will not bring it home again. Chargers will not be sent home with the technology check.

We will have remote learning days on November 23-24. We are creating a project-based assignment that you can do as a family. More information to come!

PTA Updates

All merchandise is in (including the UA shirts), and extras are for sale on the website. The PTA store also has merchandise for sale! A new sweatshirt has also been added to the store. You can also purchase your PTA membership here at the PTA store. Our goal is to have 100% of our families join the PTA.

Yearbooks are on sale! Please purchase them through the PTA store by November 20th.

Our next PTA meeting will be Tuesday, November 10 and we hope to meet after the car line at the picnic tables.

Veteran's Day

Veteran's Day is coming soon. We are planning to put a slideshow presentation together. If there is a veteran in your child's life please send a picture to younginfo@sdale.org. Please include the veteran's name, student's name and grade. All photos need to be sent in by Monday, November 9th.

The Book Fair is still open!

The Scholastic Book Fair is still open! While the Fair will be exclusively held online this year, we still plan on making it a fun and joyous experience for our kids.

Remember, every dollar you spend will benefit our school directly (25% back in rewards!).

Friday Sale

We are having a "Friday Sale" on November 6th to raise money for the large trash can that goes with our tables! We will have scented pencils with giant erasers for $2. Teachers will be collecting the $2.

Lost and Found

We have items in our lost and found that we will be showing to the students. It would be helpful if students had their name written in their jacket and on their water bottles so that we can get items back to them.

New Benches

We had new benches made that are inside the school. We have a long term goal of using these for a "makerspace" type area. A makerspace area has materials where students can make, learn, and explore.
