PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Friday, September 5th
Despite being a shorter week we fit in a lot at Patton! We had another successful Evacuate (Fire) Drill on Tuesday - the students did an amazing job and I was so proud of them! We had our first indoor recess on Wednesday, and as much as our Panthers love to get outside and enjoy the fresh air, they also enjoyed playing games and coloring with friends inside.
We also started MAP testing this week, and it has been going very well. Thank you for ensuring students are coming to school well rested, well fed, and ready to test! We will continue with more testing next week.
I am looking forward to Patton PTA's Back to School Bash this evening! I hope many of you can join us! If it is your first year at Patton, you are in for a treat. Our PTA puts a lot of effort into each of their events, and this one is a fall favorite.
Please take note that this upcoming week is a busy one!
- Tuesday, September 9th - Bike Rodeo
- Wednesday, September 10th - Picture Day & District 25 Safety Night at Thomas Middle Shcool
- Thursday, September 11th - Patton Curriculum Night
See below for more details about these events.
Have a great weekend!

ARTSONIA (NEW POST!)
A Message from Mrs. Maloney, Patton's Art Teacher
Join Artsonia!
Although the majority of artwork made in art class stays at school until the end of the year, you can still keep up to date with your child's projects as they complete them by connecting with their Artsonia account!
Artsonia is a digital portfolio where 2nd-5th grade students post their finished work (Mrs. Maloney takes care of the posting for Kindergarten and 1st!). Third, fourth, and fifth graders also create artist statements to post along with their artwork.
By connecting with their Artsonia account, you can see their artwork, share it with family and friends, and even add compliments! Simply click on the link below and enter code 3TW4K6RN. You will then be prompted to enter your child's name and your email address. Then, as artwork is posted, it will show up on their profile! Please feel free to email Mrs. Maloney at amaloney@sd25.org with any questions you may have.

Thank you!
PATTON MUSICAL PERFORMANCES (NEW POST!)
Mark your calendars for our always amazing grade level musical performances! The students always work so hard to ensure these performances are special and memorable and we are so lucky to have Mr. Whitaker at the helm for each of these shows!
CURRICULUM NIGHT (FINAL POST!)
Please join us and meet your child(ren)'s teacher and our amazing specials teachers and specialists at Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 11th. This is always an informative event and a great opportunity to meet your child's teacher and learn more about the upcoming school year. We hope many of you can attend.
COMMUNITY SAFETY EVENT (FINAL POST!)
AHSD25 is excited to host a Community Safety Night at Thomas Middle School on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 6:00–7:00 PM. This event will focus on electronic bike/scooter safety, including local ordinances and expectations on school property. We’ll also cover important reminders around drop-off and pick-up routines, as well as before and after school expectations while on school property. More details will be shared soon, but we hope many can attend
PTA SPONSORED: BIKE RODEO (FINAL POST!)
PICTURE DAY (FINAL POST!)
SPONSOR A LIBRARY BOOK (FINAL POST!)
On Curriculum Night please come and check out the new books that have been added to the Patton library this year. These include picture books, early chapter books, fiction books, and nonfiction titles. Mrs Hemmer, our librarian, will have a table located just inside the building so please stop by and meet her. If you would like to "sponsor a book", just bring $10 cash and "Paw a Book" that your child would enjoy.
We will fill out a sticker nameplate with your child's name on it and they will be the first to check out that book. If you're unsure what book they would choose, you can give the $10 and we will call your child down to the library so they can pick. How exciting!
When they are done reading the book they will return it to the library for others to enjoy. Your generosity will make it possible for our Patton Library to purchase even more books for this school year. If you have any questions please email Mrs. Hemmer shemmer@sd25.org.
LOST AND FOUND (UPDATED POST!)
As we get into colder weather territory, please take some time to label your child/ren's belongings. Mrs. Dunning regularly goes through the Lost and Found and reunites anything that has a name on it with its owner!
1st - 3rd GRADE FITNESS CLUB (2nd POST!)
Do you have energy to burn and want to get your body moving? Interested in FUN and FITNESS? If so, join Fitness Club! (Enrollment limited to first 30 fitness fans!)
Fitness Club will meet on Wednesdays in September (9/3, 9/10, 9/17, 9/24) from 3:35-4:15 pm.
Parent volunteers are VITAL to the success of this program. Please sign up if you can help.
Please note: The club will not meet if it is raining.
Questions: Jenna Apel (jenna.apel@gmail.com)
This event is solely sponsored by the PTA. School staff might not be present and have no responsibility for the event. Please direct all inquiries or concerns to the sponsoring PTA.
PTA SPONSORED PROGRESSIVE TAILGATE - SAVE THE DATE (2nd POST!)
More information about this event will be provided by the PTA soon but, in the meantime, please save the date!
TRAFFIC TEAM UPDATE (Ongoing Post!)
We are so lucky to have wonderful parent, grandparent and caregiver volunteers come to help ensure these times of the day run smoothly and safely and this year we are in need of some extra help! Do you (or a caregiver or a grandparent...) have a bit of spare time before school or after school? Do you/they want to be one of the first friendly faces our 394 Panthers see when they arrive at school or the last high five they get at the end of the school day? If so we would love it if you/they would consider volunteering to help us get our Panthers in and out of cars! We welcome people who are able to give any amount of their time - morning only, afternoon only, one day a week etc - we would be so grateful for your help!
We have attached a map here so you can see the traffic flow and where extra support is needed!
Being part of the traffic team is a great way to feel like part of the amazing Patton community and is also a great way to meet other parents!
If you are considering volunteering, but aren't quite ready to make a commitment, you can shadow a traffic volunteer one day and see what it's like. We have wonderful kids who smile at you, say thank you, and are excited to tell you about their day. (Great job, parents!)
Please complete this google form to express your interest. Thank you!
