Choir Bell Schedule 23-24

This week in choir...

LOTS of great stuff happened this week!

We continued learning our songs for the fall concert on October 9.

We also finished uniform assignments for 7th and 8th graders! Phew! :)

Students also learned to identify basic music symbols.

Next week in choir...

We will continue with identifying notes and rests, along with practicing our music for the fall concert.

Students will have a test on Friday, September 29 on identifying the basic music symbols. We will review each day in class, plus will have various ways for students to study at home through Schoology!

Test on Friday!

Students will take a test on Friday through Schoology. They will need to bring their CHARGED CHROMEBOOKS with them to class. We will have paper copies of the test for students who don't have a chromebook, or their chromebook isn't charged.

The test will be on identification of notes, rests, and basic music symbols. Students can review at home using this study guide.

T-shirt Update

The T-shirts were ordered on this week. We expect delivery by October 2nd or sooner. We'll make sure to send out comunication when we pass them out to the students. I know they're anxious to receive them! :)

Optional Choir Decal Update

The choir window decals have been ordered. We're hoping to get them about the same time as our choir shirts!

Tenor/Bass Choir Performance @ Cy Creek HS (Tues., October 10)

To: Parents of Tenor/Bass Choir students

Re: Cy-Creek HS Fall Concert

Date: Tuesday, October 10, 2023

Time: 7:00 pm

Hello Tenor/Bass choir parents!

This is just a reminder that the Tenor/Bass Choir members will be guest performers at Cy-Creek’s Fall Concert. This is a required event for these Hamilton students. They will receive a major grade for this performance.

The students need to meet in the Cy-Creek auditorium by 6:15 pm. This will give us enough time to warm up and run through their songs before the concert starts. They will wear their Hamilton choir shirts with blue or black jeans, with closed-toe shoes.

The concert starts at 7:00, is free, and will last approximately one hour. We ask that the students stay for the entire concert. Not only is that good audience etiquette, but they will enjoy hearing the various choirs at the high school level. Of course, we welcome parents and siblings to stay and listen to the entire concert, as well. ☺

If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Hounshell: Lauren.Hounshell@cfisd.net

Thank you!
