Bronco Bulletin
Keefe Regional Technical School
October 30, 2026
Dear Keefe Tech Community,
Happy Halloween! I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend.
As October comes to a close, I want to share a few updates with you.
As you know, Keefe Tech is working with the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) on a potential new building. Earlier this week, our School Building Committee selected Left Field as our Owner’s Project Manager (OPM), an important milestone in this process. An OPM serves as the district’s representative throughout a building project, helping to manage the schedule, budget, and design process.
Left Field will work alongside our team during the Feasibility Study as we explore options and develop a plan for a building that will serve future generations of Keefe Tech students. The firm brings valuable experience, including its work on South Shore Tech and the new Waltham High School, which houses several career and technical education programs.
Additionally, Keefe Tech is excited to partner with the Curtis Family Thanksgiving to help provide holiday meals to local families in need. Thank you to our Culinary Arts students and staff for supporting this longstanding community tradition. If you know a family or individual in need, please see the information below on how to receive a free hot meal on Thanksgiving.
As always, thank you to our students, staff, and families for your continued support. We are excited about the progress being made and what lies ahead for Keefe Tech.
Sincerely,
Jon Evans
Superintendent

Keefe Tech Partners with Curtis Family Thanksgiving
Keefe Tech is partnering with Curtis Family Thanksgiving to help provide hot Thanksgiving meals to local individuals and families in need. Now in its 36th year, the initiative delivered approximately 1,700 meals last year.
After learning about the organization's needs through School Committee Chair Ed Burman, Keefe Tech will provide food storage space and support with meal preparation. A special thank you to our Culinary Arts students who will be helping prepare turkeys on Thanksgiving morning!
Those interested in receiving a meal, volunteering or donating can contact curtisthanksgiving@gmail.com.
Health Office Reminders for Students
Our School Health Office is always here to support your health and well-being so you can focus on learning. To make sure the Health Office remains a safe and efficient space for students who need urgent medical attention, please review these quick guidelines on when to visit and Health Office etiquette.
Remember, our School Health Office is a medical space where some students are coming with active illnesses. Our Health Office bathroom is reserved for students with medical needs and illnesses. Our Health Office space is small so it is difficult to have lines/crowds. Please choose the restroom closest to your classroom so you’re not missing too much class time.
Some concerns are not urgent and can wait for a better time. You can always email us if you have a question about your sports eligibility, need a copy of your physical for a job application, want to tell us about an upcoming appointment, or have a non-urgent medical question. These are not reasons to miss educational time.
Your priority is being present in your classes and actively participating. Remember some concerns are better addressed at home and in consultation with your doctor versus missing time from your education and training.
Thank you for helping us keep the Health Office organized and available for those who need it most!

Dear parents/guardians:
Those of us in the school counseling department who talk to students every day who feel overwhelmed by classes, social pressures, and the looming weight of the future. When your teenager comes home stressed, your natural instinct as a part is to jump right into problem-solving mode: "Have you emailed your teacher?," "Let’s make a spreadsheet for that project."
While your help comes from a place of love, teens often shut down when they feel managed rather than heard. We find that we spend a lot of time simply validating how hard high school life is and that students sometimes get that look on their face that they are shutting down if we go right to the solution. This week, try shifting from fixer to co-pilot. When your teenager vents or looks overwhelmed, pause and ask these open-ended questions instead:
- "Do you want me to just listen right now, or are we looking for ideas to fix it?"
- "What is feeling the heaviest for you today?"
- How would you like to handle this, and how can I best back you up?"
High school is a massive exercise in building independence. By letting them own the problem-solving process—with you safely in the passenger seat—you build their confidence and keep the lines of communication wide open. Please see the attached to read more about the power of validating.
Thank you,
Julia Fairclough LICSW, SAC
