Have a Wonderful Fall Break! 🍂
Fall break is almost here, and we hope your family enjoys some time to relax, have fun, and make special memories together! As you enjoy the time away from school, try to squeeze in some reading and look for opportunities to learn something new. Whether you’re visiting a new place, trying a new activity, exploring nature, or cooking together in the kitchen, learning can happen anywhere! Since Halloween falls during fall break this year, we will not be celebrating Halloween at school. We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and relaxing fall break, and we look forward to seeing our Braves back at school soon!

Transportation, Pick up & Drop Off
Transportation and Dismissal Reminders
Any transportation changes must be reported directly to a person in the front office by 1:45 p.m. No bus changes will be accepted after 1:45. Secretaries cannot approve a bus change that is not on the bus master or approved by Heather McKinley.
For the safety of all students, students may only ride the bus they are regularly assigned to in the morning or afternoon. Students will not be permitted to change buses or ride home with another student, as our buses are at capacity.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding during drop-off and dismissal. It takes a few extra minutes to safely get students to their cars, verify that they are leaving with the correct person, and keep traffic moving. Our priority is always the safety of every student, so we appreciate your patience as we work together to make arrival and dismissal as safe and efficient as possible.
STEM in our School
Collaboration & Communication
This was our final week of our secret mission jobs!!!. Each student had a specific job and they could only talk to certain team members while completing the secret mission, like the old game, telephone. Students completed their job by sharpening their communication skills to build the secret item. Once the build was complete the team could share the blueprint and verify the build looked like the blueprint. Then the team could take the last few minutes to improve on their design. Finally we wrapped class up by respectfully listening to each team as they described their item and compared it to the blueprint.

Students are learning about "Mindfulness." Mindfulness is being aware of what's going on in the present. Students are also learning that mindfulness is being aware of what's going on with their bodies when they have big emotions. Some classes have also practiced guided meditation by focusing on calming techniques such as deep breathing and positive imagery to help re-energize and focus on the day's activities.
Pipe Creek
In our recent lesson for K-1 students, they learned about personal space and why it is important to respect the space around our bodies and the space of others. We practiced keeping a comfortable distance, asking before hugging or touching others, and respecting when someone asks for more room. You can reinforce this skill at home by talking with your child about personal boundaries and practicing ways to show respect for others.
