Hopkinton Middle School

Growing an active community of strong minds and kind hearts.

Note from the Principal

Thank you to all families that attended the promotion ceremony this morning. We hope you enjoyed seeing your students celebrate their success at HMS!

If you plan on coming to HMS over the summer please call first as office hours will be different than the normal school year. Enjoy the time off, stay safe and we will see our returning students in September!

HMS Library Update

A huge thank you to everyone who helped HMS students return their library books this year! We had an incredible year of reading, with 55,359 books read through the library. That is about 55 books per student, though, of course, some students carried the team a bit more than others.

Manga was a major reason for this reading explosion. Many series have 25+ books, and our students do not casually read them... they devour them. For context, the average middle school that reports this type of data is closer to about 24 books per student, including print, ebooks, and audiobooks.

Now it is time for SUMMER READING! For all summer reading information, please visit the library website here.

Still staring at a bookshelf wondering what to read next? Take a look at Ms. Mac’s 100 Favorite Books by Genre here. Please note that books with a small YA sticker are recommended for our older middle school readers.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out.

Happy reading,
Ms. Mac

Registration:

This year, Hopkinton Athletics will be using FinalForms for our Athletics registration. We no longer use FamilyID/Arbiter for registration. With FinalForms, you are able to sign up for any sport you would like to participate in (one sport per season).

*Middle School student emails do not currently work in registering for MS Athletics due to district restrictions on Middle School emails. You may register using a personal email or you may wait until August 10th, when you will have email access using your hiller email account.

The link to register for MS Athletics is below.

Expectations:

  1. Middle School Athletics are a privilege. Behavior in school, academic performance, and attendance are of the utmost importance and may limit students ability to participate in MS Athletic programming.

  2. In joining a middle school team, you are expected to be at all practices and games for your middle school team. In the event that you miss practices or games for other activities outside of school (club and travel teams), you may see a reduction in playing time and you may sit out games. Please consider this as you are deciding whether or not to join a team!

  3. The user fee for the middle school teams is $200 for each sport. This fee will be invoiced a week into the season and after tryouts. You may pay via MySchoolBucks or via check made out to Hopkinton Public Schools.

  4. The goal of our middle school programs is to develop skills both athletic and interpersonal while also teaching students how to effectively work as a team. Wins and losses are NOT of the highest importance at this level.

  5. Coaches will be your main contact with regards to communication around practices, games, and uniforms. Our coaches will have the most up to date information.

Summer Bash 2026!

Kick off your summer the right way.
