Eastview Update
February 21, 2025
Kids in the Community
Kids in the Community Club is teaming up with our PTA to sponsor a Cereal Drive for CRS on Friday 2/28. In celebration of our collection, students will get to watch as the cereal boxes are set up and knocked down as a Domino Train down the Eastview hallway. The more boxes, the longer the train. Students can start bringing donations in on Monday 2/24. Join us in this fun way to support our local food bank.
Early Release Day-March 6
This is just a reminder that the district will have an early release day on Thursday, March 6. Students will start their day at the normal time but will be dismissed from the elementary buildings at noon that day. Dismissal will be the same procedures that we always use, just at noon, instead of 3:20 pm.
All students will eat their lunches in their classrooms on Early Release Day. Lunch will start at 11:25 am and end at 11:50 am. Students will have an opportunity to pack or buy their lunches just like normal. There will be no extras offered on the early release day. If your child wants to buy that day, there will only be one lunch option for the day.
The lunch option for that day will be:
Chips
Salsa
Cheese cup
Apple slices
Milk
2nd Grade Inview Testing-February 24-February 28
The second graders will be taking the Inview Assessment February 24-February 28
PTA Update
Cavs Family Night: A new Family Fun PTA event coming up is a Family Night at a Cavs Game! The game will be Sunday, March 30 at 3:30 against the Clippers. This event is not a fundraiser, just a fun evening out for Eastview families. We have 100 tickets reserved in the Loudville Upper Sideline and they are $44 each. We have the opportunity for 25 students to form a cheer tunnel either before the game or after half-time, either for the Cavs or Clippers. When you purchase your tickets through the following link, please enter your student(s) name(s) in the noted field and they will be entered into a drawing to select our 25 students! We will know closer to game day whether it will be pre-game or half-time, Cavs or Clippers. Tickets will be available to purchase on a first come, first served basis until February 26 at 5pm, or until sold out. Purchase Cavs tickets here
Disability Awareness Week - Volunteers Needed: We are still looking for volunteers to help run stations at the Disability Awareness Week assembly at Eastview on March 13. Please click here for more information and to sign up.
PTA Openings: It’s hard to believe we are already into the second half of the school year, and even harder to believe we are starting to think about next year! As a PTA we will be looking to add to various committees, as well as committee lead positions. We are always looking for new parents/family members who would like to be more involved. In the coming months, we will identify more specifically what committees and board positions we will need filled, but in the mean time If you would like to learn more about PTA, or would like to get involved in the remainder of this school year, please reach out to Jessica Springer (jessica.springer1231@gmail.com), and be sure to join us at our upcoming meeting 3/13 (this meeting date is a Thursday, not our typical Tuesday). If you aren’t a member yet, click here to join!

AVON LAKE PTA COUNCIL- SEEKING BOARD VOLUNTEERS
Avon Lake PTA Council is comprised of its own Executive Board which works with representatives from all of the Avon Lake PTA units and the Avon Lake School District to share ideas, help work as a medium to address challenges faced by the units and the district in addition to being a liaison with Ohio and National PTA.
PTA Council is seeking volunteers to serve on its Executive Board for the 2025-2026 school year. Open positions include Treasurer, Secretary, VP Fundraising, VP President Elect and Scholarship Chair. Meetings are held roughly 4 times during the school year. Scope of responsibilities is much less time-consuming than at the individual units and our Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent attends our meetings. One requirement to serve is that you must be a member of one of the Avon Lake PTA units.
If you are interested in serving on PTA Council or have questions about positions/responsibilities, please send an e-mail to Audra Avarello at ajavarello@hotmail.com by March 1. Thank you for considering serving on this Board.
