Dear Lemon Crest Families,

Sending our Newsletter a Day Early!

Families, please join us TOMORROW, Friday, October 3 at 8am on the blacktop for our October All-School Assembly! Parents/Caregivers are always welcome to join, and tomorrow, we'll be sharing information about our upcoming Jog-a-Thon! The Jog-a-Thon is our school's biggest fundraising event! Please join us!

Join Our School Site Council!

We are looking for parents/caregivers to serve on our School Site Council (SSC) this year. The SSC plays an important role in shaping the direction of Lemon Crest by reviewing our School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and providing valuable input on how we can best support our students.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, October 14 at 2:30pm in the library! Come by to learn more or email me if youโ€™re interested in joining! Your voice matters, and this is a wonderful way to be directly involved in making our school even better.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are NEXT WEEK, October 6-9!

A reminder that next week, we will have Minimum Days (11:10am dismissal for TK & K; 11:30am dismissal for 1st-5th) on October 6-9 for Parent/Teacher Conferences! Your child(ren)'s teacher will send out a sign-up sheet. You can meet in-person or via Google Meets/Zoom if needed.

Friday, October 10, there is no school for students.

Take care,

Jen Price

Lemon Crest Principal

California Healthy Kids Survey California Healthy Kids Survey

5th grade Parents/Caregivers, we need your help!

Action Required for 5th Grade Parents & Caregivers: Please complete this form related to the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS). Thanks in advance!

The CHKS Survey is a critical piece of data collection that we need and use as a school site to help us make informed, data-based decisions about how our 5th graders are feeling about school. The survey is anonymous, but we need parents/caregivers to either complete the above digital permission slip OR a paper permission slip so students can participate.

Last year, we only had 49% of our entire group of 5th graders participate. We're hoping for at least 75-80% this year, and the 5th grade class with the highest percentage will be rewarded by a Principal Price Pizza Party! :)

Contacting Teachers & Principal Price Contacting Teachers & Principal Price

If you have a question or concern about your child, we encourage you to speak with your child's teacher first. Please note that during the instructional day, teachers and staff may not be able to respond to your message, email or call since they are busy doing what they do best: teaching! Your child's teacher will respond to you when they are able. Thank you for understanding!

Contacting Principal Price:

  • Email: jprice@lsusd.net

  • Call the Front Office: (619) 390-2527 - The front office staff will take a message, and Principal Price will call you when she is available

  • In-Person: Call the office so Mrs. Whitehurst or Ms. Madina can help us set up a meeting so I can dedicate time to you!

Many of your questions may be answered in our Lemon Crest Family Handbook A-Z . We ask that all families read this.

Please know that there is a 24-48 hour "grace period" in my response time. When I respond, call or meet with you, I need time to get informed in order to have possible answers to your questions. I am prioritizing getting to know our students so I can support their success and am often not readily available in the office. Thank you for your understanding and support.
