West Linn-Wilsonville High School Students Shine in Co-Curricular Activities
Students from West Linn and Wilsonville high schools dominated on the hardwood, the pitch, and on the stage during the past few weeks, finishing among the best in the state in volleyball, soccer, and cross-country in addition to drama productions and musical performances at multiple schools.
Wilsonville girls soccer and West Linn girls volleyball both won state championships in their respective leagues, while West Linn boys soccer finished second in the state championship on Nov. 13. Student athletes in cross-country experienced success of their own, Wilsonville High volleyball finished second in state, and both Wilsonville and West Linn football teams will compete in the third round of the 5A and 6A playoffs this Friday.
Wilsonville High School students performed their production of "Once Upon a Mattress" during the week of November 11, while West Linn High School students will perform "The Pirates of Penzance" through November 20. Orchestra, choir, and band students also showcased their talents in several venues during the months of October and November.
