SHOUT OUTS

MCS LIONS can earn shout outs by demonstrating core values of Loyalty, Integrity, Optimism, Nobility, and Success throughout the school day. Shout outs are announced during morning announcements, and are also entered into a drawing for a chance to win a prize at the end of each week. Recent shout outs include:

  • To Addy from Ms. Mae - For re-organizing messy classroom Shelves
  • To Gabe O. from Ms. Mae - For helping the substitute understand classroom procedures
  • To Aeshling from Ms. Pyle - For showing integrity by being honest about already getting part of her reward, when she could have Ms. Pyle forget and get extra rewards.

Film vs. Fact is learning around the movie, The Greatest Showman. Students learned about the basic history of the circus and some of the facts of P.T. Barnum's life. They popped balloons that held events on a timeline and then raced to get them in the correct order first.

Help Us Collect Postcards from Around the World!

Our middle school geography classes are hoping to collect postcards from around the world! Our goal is to receive at least one postcard from each of the seven continents, including Antarctica.

If you have friends, family members, or coworkers who live in or are traveling to other countries, please help us spread the word! We would love for them to send a postcard from their part of the world, sharing a little about where they live or are visiting.

Postcards featuring local scenery, landmarks, or interesting places are perfect. If you know someone working or conducting research in Antarctica, that would be especially exciting!

Our goal is to give students a tangible connection to the places they are studying in geography and to show them just how big and diverse our world really is. Thank you for helping us bring a little bit of the world into our classroom!
