A Message from Mrs. Belcher:
Stewart families,
We enjoyed welcoming our Mustangs back this past week! They did a great job kicking off the second semester of learning. We will begin our middle of year assessments this coming week. Students in grades K-6 will take various assessments on different days. The testing dates are listed below; however, these dates could be subject to change. All assessments will be complete by the end of January and scores will be reported home by early February. We look forward to seeing the growth our students have made since the start of school!
As we kick off this new semester, it is a great time to reflect on school attendance. School attendance directly correlates to student success! Please make every effort to have your child at school each day, on time, and for the full duration of the school day. Instruction begins at 7:55 a.m. If your student is not inside the building by 7:55 a.m., please park, walk your child inside, and sign your child in for the day. Please do not drop your child off in front of the school after 7:55 a.m. as this is a safety concern. As a friendly reminder, students must be present at least 90% of the school year. Missed instructional minutes due to tardies or early dismissals add up to missed instructional days. Our instructional day goes goes from 7:55 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. Thank you for partnering with us to maximize our instructional day and to help your student grow!
Happy New Year,
Kristen Belcher, Principal

Safety Reminders: From Officer Bass
Dear Stewart Families,
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
I would like to take a moment to thank you for your cooperation and support of our safety initiatives at Stewart during the fall semester. Your partnership plays an important role in helping us keep our campus safe.
During the month of December, however, there was a noticeable increase in unsafe lane changes, driver inattention, speeding, and cell phone use in the car rider line and surrounding school zones. These concerns were observed by staff and reported by our campus crossing guards.
Please know that our safety procedures are not intended to inconvenience families. They are in place to protect everyone—most importantly, our students. As we begin the spring semester, I kindly ask for your continued assistance in following all safety initiatives and directional signs while on campus and in school zones.
Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to keeping Stewart a safe place for all.
Sincerely,
Officer Randy Bass
