Inclusive Schools Week: December 1st - December 5th
Seasons Greetings and Happy December Vikings! To kick of December we are excited to celebrate Inclusive Schools Week, a time dedicated to honoring the unique strengths, backgrounds, and identities that make our Redwood community so special. Inclusion is about ensuring every student feels seen, valued, and supported — and we invite all students and staff to join us in recognizing the importance of kindness, acceptance, and belonging on our campus.
- Throughout the week, we’ll have daily dress-up themes, lunchtime activities, and opportunities for students to learn how we can all contribute to a welcoming school environment. We hope you’ll participate, show your Redwood spirit, and help us highlight what makes our school a place where everyone can thrive.
Let’s work together to celebrate our diversity, uplift one another, and continue building a safe and inclusive Redwood Middle School.
Semester 1 - - Ends December 19th
The end of the setters marks the first permanent grade for this school year. As a reminder students earn two official grades for each class, one at semester 1 and the second for semester two. These marking periods conclude in December and June each school year. Moving into high school students will earn credits at the end of each semester for classes. Middle school is an important time to learn the study skills and structure that will help them in high school.
- Take your grades seriously Vikings, check Q Connect and communicate with your teachers.
- Parents- Encourage your children to email their teachers and CC you. This helps them take an active role in their education, but keeps you informed as well. Teachers emails are listed on Q Connect under "assignments" or "schedule".

Attention 8th Grade Families - Future Lancer Night is Coming!
Dear 8th Grade Families,
We are excited to share that Thousand Oaks High School will be hosting Future Lancer Night for the Class of 2030 on Tuesday, December 10 at 6:00 PM. This special event is designed to help students and families explore everything TOHS has to offer as they begin planning for the transition to high school.
Future Lancer Night will include opportunities to learn about TOHS academic programs, athletics, the arts, and school choice options. Families will also be able to meet current students, teachers, coaches, and staff to hear firsthand about the programs and pathways available — including innovative learning communities like The Center, the ETHOS Entrepreneurship Academy, CTE programs, award-winning arts, and a wide range of competitive sports.
This is a wonderful chance for students to discover what it means to be part of the Lancer community and start imagining their future at TOHS.
We encourage all 8th-grade families to attend!
