🎉 Sunnyvale Middle School (SMS) - A warm welcome awaited students as SMS cheerleaders and staff greeted them with big smiles, high energy, and Raider pride.

🎓 Sunnyvale High School (SHS) - SHS students settled quickly into classrooms and got right to work with hands on reviews and goal setting for the new year.

Across the district, the energy was contagious, and the smiles were everywhere. Here’s to a year filled with growth, success, and Raider pride!

On Wednesday, August 13, the first day of school, Sunnyvale High School’s Class of 2026 proudly started their senior year with one of our most treasured traditions, the annual Senior Walk.

Parents gathered in the SHS halls starting at 9:00 AM, buzzing with excitement, cameras ready to capture the milestone moment. At 9:45 AM, the halls came alive as seniors began their walk from the Hall of Honor, smiling and waving to friends, teachers, and loved ones along the way.

This event marked the first in a series of “lasts” for our seniors, the first step in a year filled with memories, milestones, and well-deserved celebrations. After the walk, families and friends shared hugs, posed for photos, and soaked up the joy of the moment before students headed back to class.

The Senior Walk is more than just a tradition; it’s a symbolic start to a year of leadership, growth, and anticipation for what comes next. Congratulations to our seniors on this special milestone. We can’t wait to celebrate all of your accomplishments in the months ahead!

As we kick off the new school year, we want to remind all parents and guardians that every student in grades 3 – 12 has access to use a district Chromebook.
For grades 3 - 5, district Chromebooks are assigned and kept in a computer cart in their homeroom when not in use. For grades 6 - 12, district Chromebooks are issued and students take them home on a daily basis.

Please remember that families are responsible for any fees related to damage or loss of the Chromebook, as outlined in the district’s fee schedule. Thank you for helping us ensure that students take care of their technology and are prepared for success every day!

New This Year for Grades 3 - 5

Beginning this school year, students in grades 3 - 5 will follow the same Chromebook damage and loss fee schedule as our 6th - 12th grade students. This means that in the event of accidental or intentional damage - or if a Chromebook is lost - families may be responsible for fees to repair or replace the device.

To see the fee list and learn more about how our IT staff assesses damage, please see the attachments below.

We appreciate your support as we work together to teach our students the value of caring for shared technology. If you have any questions about this update, please reach out to campus administration.

Here’s to a wonderful school year ahead!
