“WHAT YOU DO MAKES A DIFFERENCE, AND YOU HAVE TO DECIDE WHAT KIND OF DIFFERENCE YOU WANT TO MAKE,”
- Jane Goodall
Good Afternoon, CUSD,
October is a busy month across the district. Please make sure you read your school site newsletters and teacher communications so you don’t miss any important information!
This Sunday is the annual Coronado Public Safety Open House and our very own Coronado Robotics teams from CHS will be hosting a STEM Fair at the event. See flyer below and look for the tents in front of CHS. They will be making and giving out free 3D printed dragons!
Next week you may see the big Wyland Mobile Learning Experience (MLE) truck parked on the Village Elementary playground. This incredible opportunity for all of our 4th and 5th grade students at Village and Silver Strand is made possible by the Coronado Schools Foundation and Emerald Keepers. The MLE is a biodiesel-powered science museum created by the Wyland Foundation. Students get to experience hands-on science standards lessons about water quality, conservation, and the environment.
Did you know the San Diego Museum Council celebrates Kids Free San Diego every October? Take your kids to over 60 San Diego museums for free during the entire month!
In other great news…. Kona Ice is coming to the Village schools from 1:30-3pm on the second Wednesday of every month for Kool Wednesdays! This fun treat is a CSF fundraiser, with a portion of all sales going right back to CSF. Look for the truck on 6th St. between Village and CMS. See flyer below for dates, times, and details.
Have a wonderful weekend,

Ed Tech Parent Series
SDCOE is excited to announce the upcoming Educational Technology Parent Series, a free virtual learning opportunity open to all parents and educators across our region. This series is designed to support families and school communities in navigating educational technology and resources that empower student success.
As our educators, parents, and community come together to connect, challenge, and champion our students, we are humbled by the outpouring of compliments. What a positive testament to our CUSD family!
Click here to recognize an employee or volunteer who goes above and beyond to make a difference. Those who are "caught" will receive a copy of the positive words that were shared about them and a "Caught Being Awesome" decal. Please take a minute or two to brighten someone else's day!
