Important Reminders

Welcome Back! We hope everyone had a great spring break!

As we come back from break we will be working on test prep for our upcoming MAP assessments.

We understand that occasional absences are unavoidable due to illness or other circumstances. However, we encourage you to prioritize school attendance whenever possible. Here are some ways you can help:

  • Establish a consistent bedtime and morning routine.
  • Schedule appointments outside of school hours whenever possible.
  • Communicate with the school promptly regarding any absences.
  • If your child is ill, please follow the schools guidelines for when they can return.

Please make sure that if your student is out, that they bring a note with them when they return to school.

Please make sure your students know how they are going home, and to let the front office know/ your child's teacher know if there are any changes.

Please make sure that your children have their bus tag on their backpacks each day.

How to Help at Home:

Practice describing feelings and emotions.

Give or say the name of an object and have your student practice using adjectives.

Give your students word problems to practice addition and subtraction within 20.

Practice skip counting forward and backwards.

Students should be reading at home every night.

Have students practice rereading books that they are familiar with to practice fluency, reading rate, and reading with expression.

Please have student practicing their handwriting at home. This can be as simple as having them rewrite the alphabet and numbers, practice spelling high frequency words or their family members names!

A List of High frequency words/ heart words were given at conferences along with comprehension practice! These are easy things to work on at home!

Go over high frequency words with your students like:

the, I, a, said, to, do, of, see, he, be, me, from, look, book, are, was, you, what, have, your, want, no, go, so, goes, says, she, we, talk, walk, were, could, would, should, or, for,

4. In the search bar type "MyPath". (There should be a reading and math option)

  • or look for the icons already made to favorites on the main Clever Screen.
5. Once you click on which subject you would like, they should be able to practice skills in different areas that align with their MAP scores.
