Bell Schedule This Week: Senior Exams

To accommodate Senior Exams, we will be following a block bell schedule this week.

Monday, May 12: Block Schedule (1,3,5,7); Senior Exams 1st and 3rd

Tuesday, May 13: Block Bell Schedule (2,5,6,4); Senior Exams 2nd and 5th

Wednesday, May 14: Block Bell Schedule (1,6,5,7); Senior Exams 6th and 7th

Thursday, May 15: Block Bell Schedule (2,4,6,3); Final Exams for ALL during 4th period; Senior Chromebook Collection

Friday, May 16: Regular Bell Schedule; Senior Make Up Exams

This week we begin our final exams for seniors. Here are a few things to remember:

  • Charge your Chromebook the night before. Bring your charger just in case your Chromebook needs a charge throughout the day.
  • Get a good night's sleep: Ensure you have a restful sleep the night before the test. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep to feel refreshed and focused in the morning.
  • Wake up early: Give yourself enough time in the morning to avoid rushing. Waking up early allows you to have a calm and relaxed start to your day.
  • Eat a nutritious breakfast: Fuel your brain with a healthy breakfast containing protein, whole grains, and fruits or vegetables. Avoid heavy or greasy foods that may make you feel sluggish.
  • Review key information: Quickly review key concepts or notes related to the test material. Focus on main ideas, formulas, or important details to refresh your memory.
  • Practice deep breathing or meditation: Take a few minutes to engage in deep breathing exercises or meditation to calm your mind and reduce test anxiety.
  • Avoid last-minute cramming: Trying to learn new information right before the test can be overwhelming and may lead to confusion. Trust in the preparation you have done and focus on a positive mindset instead.
  • Double-check test materials: Before leaving for the test, ensure you have all the necessary materials, such as pens, pencils, erasers, calculators, or any other items required. This helps avoid unnecessary stress.
  • Use the restroom: Take a quick restroom break before the test begins. This minimizes distractions and helps you stay focused during the exam.
  • Stay positive and confident: Maintain a positive attitude and believe in your abilities. Positive self-talk can boost your confidence and help you perform better during the test.

Check-Outs - Final Exams

To ensure that all students have the opportunity to perform their best on their exams, there will be no student check-outs allowed during the final exam window. This procedure is necessary to minimize disruptions and maintain the integrity of the testing process. We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, but we kindly request that appointments and other obligations be scheduled outside of this critical period. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Retrieving Medications from the Clinic Before the Last Day of School

As we approach the end of the school year, we would like to remind parents and guardians who have stored medication for their child in the school clinic to retrieve it before the last day of school. Please note that medications must be picked up by a parent and or adult listed on the student's emergency check-out list. For the safety of our students, medications will not be sent home with students. To retrieve your child's medication, please visit the clinic during regular school hours. We encourage you to do this as soon as possible to ensure a smooth and timely return of medications.

Attention Students: The Tech Office is looking for volunteers over the summer to help with various chromebook, computer labs and other technology set up tasks. If you are interested please fill out the following form and Mr. Samples will email you to set up a schedule:

Students, if you didn't have your Chromebook charger when your LA class completed the Chromebook Check in, NOW is the time to bring the charger to room T317 so you don't get a fee on your account. The charger MUST have your name sticker on it.

You must bring it to T317 before May 12. Students can come during any class period.

2025-2026 11th Grade Requirement

Effective July 1, 2021, children 16 years of age and older, who are entering the 11th grade (including new entrants), must receive one dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) administered on or after their 16th birthday.

Meningococcal disease is a serious bacterial illness that affects the brain and the spinal cord. Meningitis can cause shock, coma, and death within hours of the first symptoms.

Failure to submit the Georgia Form 3231 (certificate of immunization) will result in the exclusion of your child from school.

Ask your pediatrician or local health department about other shots your child may need including:

  • the human papillomavirus (HPV) series
  • the tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis shot (Tdap or Td booster)
  • catch-up immunizations, including chickenpox, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and hepatitis

Students can get vaccinations and certificates of immunization from their private physician, other health care providers, or at local health department offices listed below. Please check https://www.gnrhealth.com/locations or call the numbers below for health department hours of operation and immunization availability.
