Reminder- 9th-grade students will be taking the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) for English Language Arts on Tuesday, May 13th, and Wednesday, May 14th.
It is absolutely crucial that all 9th-grade students bring their fully charged Chromebooks to school on both of these testing days. See this letter regarding testing details.
Please be aware of a delayed school opening for all 10th and 12th-grade students on the following dates due to NJSLA Math and Science testing for other grade levels:

- Tuesday, May 20th
On these two days, 10th and 12th-grade students should report to school no later than 10:05 AM. First block classes will begin promptly at 10:10 AM.
Teacher Appreciation Week
A HUGE thank you to everyone who made Teacher Appreciation Week so special! Our teachers were showered with treats, enjoyed a beautiful luncheon, and were thrilled by the raffle prizes, all thanks to your generosity.
We also want to extend a special thank you to the amazing APT for their incredible hard work in organizing and recognizing our wonderful teachers. Your dedication and effort made the week truly exceptional. We are so fortunate to have the best educators and such a caring, supportive community.
Student of the Month
May's theme is “Panther Pride."
We asked our teachers to nominate a student who embraces school spirit and actively participates in school activities and functions. Congratulations to our May Student of the Month, Anthony "Buddy" Tronio!
Cinco de Mayo
Students had a fantastic time celebrating Cinco de Mayo with Mrs. Rodriguez at a special luncheon. They enjoyed delicious treats, learned about the cultural significance of Cinco de Mayo, and spent some quality time with Mrs. Rodriguez in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Congratulations to Olivia Varkey and Aaron Quinones for winning the salsa and guacamole contest!
Essex County Scholars
We are thrilled to announce that our Valedictorian, Deeya Baveshi, and Salutatorian, Jonathan William, recently attended the prestigious Essex County Scholars Dinner.
At this special event, Deeya and Jonathan were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements and were celebrated as Cedar Grove High School's top two graduating scholars. Their dedication, hard work, and intellectual curiosity have truly set them apart, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments.
Congratulations, Deeya and Jonathan, on this well-deserved honor! You have both made a significant impact on CGHS, and we look forward to seeing all that you achieve in the future.

Students in Mrs. Parks and Mr. Kochanski's classes thoroughly enjoyed their time interacting with Canton. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to connect with such a gentle and calming presence. They also had the chance to ask thoughtful questions to Canton's owner, Ms. Casta-Lahue, which was a valuable learning experience. The visit was a great success and brought a lot of joy to our students.
