Gold Rush students shared their incredible talents with our school community today during our anual talent show. Students impressed the audience with a wide variety of performances, including heartfelt singing, energetic dancing, and several instrumental numbers. The event truly highlighted the creativity, courage, and diverse talents of our students.

We were especially proud of the confidence and poise each performer demonstrated on stage. It takes bravery to stand before an audience and share one’s talents, and our students rose to the occasion with enthusiasm and pride. Their performances were engaging, entertaining, and memorable for everyone in attendance.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our dedicated music teacher, Ms. Rickard, for organizing such a successful event. Her passion for music and commitment to supporting our students’ growth and creativity were evident throughout the program. We are grateful for the time, effort, and care she put into making this special experience possible for our students and school community.

Gold Rush Elementary was excited to welcome our future kindergarten students and their families to school this past Thursday for Kindergarten Orientation. It was a wonderful opportunity for students and parents to meet our outstanding kindergarten team and connect with some of their future classmates.

One of the highlights of the event was a special video featuring our current kindergarten students sharing their favorite parts about being in kindergarten. Their enthusiasm and excitement gave our incoming students a fun glimpse into the learning, friendships, and experiences that await them next year.

Families also enjoyed a self-guided tour of the school, where they had the opportunity to meet many of our specials teachers, including art, music, physical education, Spanish, S.T.E.A.M., library, and more. The day was filled with excitement, smiles, and anticipation as we begin preparing to welcome our newest Gold Rush students.

Gold Rush Elementary recently came together as a school community to honor and celebrate three incredible staff members who will be retiring at the end of this school year. Third grade teacher Mrs. Baird, preschool teacher Ms. Pettinger, and preschool special educator Mrs. Sakryd are beginning exciting new chapters, and we are deeply grateful for the lasting impact they have made on our students, families, and staff.

During the celebration, students shared heartfelt messages and special tributes to recognize the care, dedication, and support these educators have given throughout the years. Each staff member was also inducted into the Gold Rush Hall of Fame in recognition of their outstanding contributions to our school community.

One of the most memorable moments of the event was hearing the entire school come together in song to express appreciation for the many years of commitment and love they have poured into Gold Rush Elementary. It was a meaningful celebration filled with gratitude, smiles, and special memories.

We sincerely thank Mrs. Baird, Ms. Pettinger, and Mrs. Sakryd for all they have done to support and inspire our students. Their influence will continue to be felt for years to come. We wish each of them happiness, relaxation, and great success in their retirement adventures!
