School Pictures
School pictures and student ID's from the September photoshoot will be distributed early this week in English classes. If you are unhappy with the photos - or if your student wasn't present for the original picture day - a retake day will be held on October 23.
Congratulations!
Grade Reporting @ LMHS
All parents/guardians (and students) should have received the first Interim Grade Report of the year via email on Friday afternoon, October 2. Interim Grade Reports are issued at the end of every month except January and June, when official report cards are issued at the end of each semester. LMHS uses semester-long grading for all courses except for the middle school rotation classes, which are only a quarter in length.
Interim grade reports like Friday's are used for several purposes -- one is to determine continued eligibility in co-curricular activities. After each interim grade report is issued, we look at the grade report for each student involved in co-curriculars such as athletics and drama. If a student is not passing at least five units of classwork, one of two things can happen:
- If this is the first time in a season, the student is put on academic probation from the activity. They continue to practice and play, but must meet the eligibility criteria by the next interim grade report.
- If this is the second interim grade report in a row where the student is not passing at least 5 units of classwork, they are removed from the team.
Now that we have issued our first interim grade report of the year, each Friday afternoon (when an interim grade report is not issued), you will receive by email a "weekly grades and attendance update." This is to keep you apprised of your student's status and is informational only -- the weekly updates are NOT used for co-curricular eligibility.
Please contact Principal Brighenti with any questions.
