A Message from Dr. Poncheri

Dear Cole Manor Families,

As we move into the fall season, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. The energy and enthusiasm in our classrooms has been wonderful, and we have many exciting events coming up to celebrate learning, culture, and the autumn season!

At Cole Manor, we are proud to honor and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Students have been engaging in classroom activities that explore the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic Americans. From art projects and read-alouds to music and cultural presentations, our students are learning the value of diversity. We look forward to celebrating together as a school community! Please join us for a celebration on 10/8/26.

Be sure to check the flyer in this newsletter for additional information! The parade will be at 2 PM in the bus loop areas if families want to visit to watch the parade.

As we enjoy the fall season, I encourage all families to make reading together a daily priority. Take time to read with your child, ask questions about what they are reading, and discuss what they are learning in school. Building strong reading comprehension skills is a major focus at Cole Manor. We are committed to ensuring that all students can read, comprehend grade-level texts, and develop the math skills necessary for success. Your partnership is essential in helping every student reach their highest potential.

Thank you for being such an important part of the Cole Manor community. I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming events!

Sincerely,

Dr. Poncheri

IMPORTANT HEALTH INFORMATION IMPORTANT HEALTH INFORMATION

A Message from Mrs. Cleary

MEASLES FACTS

Symptoms can include a high fever, a runny nose, a cough, red water eyes, and a rash (usually does not start until approximately 3-5 days after other symptoms start).

- A person with measles is contagious 4 days before their rash starts and until 4 days after the rash starts.

- According to the Centers for Disease Control Statistics, 1 of every 5 people with measles will be hospitalized (The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2026).

- The measles virus can live in the air for 2 hours after the person with measles has left the room.

- When an adult or child receives both measles vaccines, they are 97% protected against getting the measles virus.

- According to current statistics, the measles virus is 12 times more contagious than the flu and twice as contagious as COVID-19 (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2026).

- The best protection against the measles virus is to receive the vaccines to prevent a person from getting it.

Please see the link for more information about measles. Thank you.
