Hello Emerson Elementary Families!

School is officially underway, and we’re off to a fantastic start! Classrooms are buzzing with excitement as students dive into new learning, grow their brains, and build strong habits for success.

Our focus for the month is “Nourishing with Knowledge,” and our Character Trait of the Month is Curiosity. Curiosity encourages a love of learning and sparks interest in exploring new ideas—both in and out of the classroom.

Here are 5 simple ways you can encourage curiosity at home:

  1. Ask open-ended questions like “What do you think would happen if...?” to spark deeper thinking.

  2. Explore together by visiting a local museum, nature trail, or library.

  3. Let them lead—follow your child’s interests and encourage them to ask “why” and “how.”

  4. Model curiosity by sharing something new you’ve learned or are interested in.

  5. Celebrate questions more than answers—praise their thinking, not just correctness.

Thank you for partnering with us in your child’s learning journey. Together, we’re helping our students build strong minds and bright futures!

First Student Celebration First Student Celebration

What a pleasure it is to celebrate our students and the great work they are already doing in class. We celebrated 49% of our student body having perfect attendance for August! That means they had no absences, no tardies, and they did not leave early. We learn best when we are here for every moment! We also celebrated our students who exemplified the character trait of responsibility, birthdays, and individual grade certificates.
