Centennial HERO News Sept. 28, 2026

Centennial Families, we are excited to celebrate Leadership Day this Wednesday, September 30! Leadership Day is a special opportunity for our school community to recognize our Heroes of the Month and celebrate the many accomplishments of our scholars.

As a reminder, dress uniform is required for all scholars on Wednesday. Check out the pics below as an example of what your scholar should wear. We look forward to honoring our Heroes and celebrating the excellence, character, leadership, and achievements happening throughout Centennial Academy!

Heroes Today. Legends Tomorrow!

We are excited to announce the return of Centennial Academy’s Student Government Association (SGA) as part of our L³ Legacy Leadership League! SGA provides scholars with an opportunity to use their voices, represent their peers, serve our school and community, and help make Centennial an even better place. Members will meet 1–2 times each month to elevate scholar voice and coordinate school and community projects.

SGA Leadership: Upper Academy scholars may apply for officer positions, including President (8th Grade), Vice President (6th–7th), Secretary, Parliamentarian, and Historian (6th–8th). Officer candidates should be positive role models who demonstrate leadership, maintain A’s and B’s, have strong citizenship with no office referrals, maintain good attendance, and are available for after-school meetings.

Representatives:

• 2nd and 5th grade will submit two scholar names to serve as representatives for Lower and Middle Academy
• 6th–7th grade homerooms will identify their representative candidates (2 per homeroom) by September 30. For 6th–8th grade-level representatives, scholars will be voted into office through the SGA election process.

Officer Election Timeline: Paper applications will be available October 1 and are due October 6. Scholars who are eligible to run will be notified October 8. Campaigning will take place October 19–30, with candidate videos due October 22 and airing on CA News the week of October 26. The schoolwide SGA election will be held November 2.

Does your scholar who demonstrate the character, responsibility, leadership, and commitment needed to represent their Crew and academy well? If so, encourage them to apply to be apart of CA's SGA! We are excited to bring SGA back to Centennial and provide another meaningful pathway for scholar voice, leadership, service, and advocacy!

Candy Wars is officially on, so let’s see which classroom can collect the most candy and earn a class party! Pumpkin donations begin October 1, and decorated Literacy Pumpkin Walk entries are due October 29 (for classroom teachers).
