Middle School Happenings

Students in all grade levels will attend a " No Place for Hate '' presentation hosted by Mr. Hanaway, Mr. Brunton and myself. During our presentation, students will fill out a "follow along" worksheet in which they will turn in at completion. Students will learn about the types of bullying which included verbal, social, cyber, and written. Students will learn some of the statistics across the United States, what a bystander and an upstander is, and how to overcome fear when wanting to stand up for an act that is not right. Students will make their way through a series of questions, and situations during the presentation to decipher if the situation was peer conflict, an act of bullying, or a mutual argument. Lastly, students will be able to view our handbook pages that discuss bullying and the consequences.
