May/June Minne Scoop

Final Note from Ms. Johnson

As we are approaching the end of the school year, we have lots to be thankful for, we have a great staff working to put students first, we have parents who willingly partner with us to ensure the best for our students, and we have community members who do the same.

Last week we finished MCA testing and we are moving into benchmark testing for the next 2 weeks. I am excited to see our students growth from the fall till now !

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! To everyone who donated items to staff appreciation! We had a gracious amount of goodies! It is such a good feeling when we all collaborate on a project.

Speaking of another collaboration- PTO! At our last meeting, some enthusiastic parents created a Minnehaha PTO Facebook page and a What’s App to be able to communicate with one another. I will share those on our Facebook page and our website.

We celebrated 3 more Super Agates in classrooms with game day, popcorn, and juice this past Thursday! So many new games to learn! We had a blast!

Book Blast books are in! If you have some feedback about Book Blast, please email me at sjohnson@isd381.org. It was something new to try and I would love to hear from you to know if we should do it again for next year.

Please always remember my door is always open and it is important for me to listen and learn from all parents, and partners in our school.

Always Be a Reader and Always Be Curious,

Mrs. Johnson

Paraprofessional Tamber Weller has illustrated a children’s book by author Kathryn Magnuson. It is about the last bulb in the box named Luna and her journey to find her place. We do have a copy in the library. It is also available for purchase wherever books are sold.

Congratulations Tamber!
