Educating Our Future
Notification of School Cancellations:
- Colder weather is approaching which means the possibility of school being cancelled or a late start being implemented due to the environmental conditions. Information will be shared via automated phone calls, text messages, emails, the website, Facebook, and local television media.
- As a reminder, if school is cancelled, the District will be utilizing eLearning. Information on the expectations for these days should be shared with you and your child by your child's teacher(s). Please call your child's school office if you have questions.
District Reminder:
Animals on School Property-
As a reminder, household/family animals or pets are not allowed on school grounds when children are present. If you have a service animal, the proper paperwork must be shared with your child's building administrator. School grounds include the physical building, playground/recess area, parking lot and grassy area around the building. If there is a question, please email Mrs. Virgil at kvirgil@dist13.org.

Community Information:
- Participants must be approved for 4-C benefits before they begin any programs. Must be a member to qualify for 4Cs.
- Participants must apply for 4-C and be denied due to earning too much income before they are eligible to receive a program scholarship on before or after school programs

Dear Rock Falls ESD 13 Community:
🎉 A few District-wide highlights to celebrate:
1. During the month of October, we had an average daily attendance of 94% for all four buildings!
2. State Report Card Designations:
- Rock Falls Middle School was assigned a summative rating of Approaching Exemplary for the Illinois Report Card. This is the second highest rating for the designations.
- Merrill was designated as Commendable which is one level higher than last year.
- Dillon was designated as Developing.
3. 87% of students have had no more than one behavior incident this year thus far.
