Trailblazer Bulletin #28
April 27, 2026

Our Field Day was a huge success—packed with energy, laughter, and an incredible lineup of fun games for everyone to enjoy! The day was made even more special thanks to the amazing support of our volunteers, including dedicated parents, enthusiastic SFHS students, and our local county fire department. Their time and spirit helped create a memorable experience for all of our students.
A special thank you to Coach Chavez for organizing such a fantastic event—your hard work and dedication truly made the day unforgettable!
Shout out to our amazing 6th graders, Ms. Maayan, and the brave firefighters, who all took a turn getting dunked in the dunk tank and kept the crowd cheering!
Please Complete Community Schools Survey
Dear Families,
We hope you are doing well.
You may recall that we shared our school surveys earlier this year in January. As part of our participation in the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) Community Schools initiative, we are now required to distribute an additional set of surveys.
We kindly ask that you take a few minutes to complete the Community Schools Family Survey by May 30, 2026. Your feedback is extremely important and will help guide planning, improve programs, and support our continued work with students and families.
Please note that completing this survey is a requirement tied to our Community Schools grant for the upcoming school year. Your participation directly supports our ability to continue offering valuable resources and opportunities for our school community.
https://forms.gle/qKpxRMK98GF5dBt69
If you prefer, a Spanish version of the survey is also available: https://forms.gle/M7MntEz29fBwXANE6
We truly appreciate your time and support. If you have any questions or need assistance accessing the survey, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for being an important part of our community.
Sincerely,
Nancy Ramirez

Special Visit for Our 6th Graders! ✨🚗
We were excited to welcome Mr. Carrillo’s dad to campuslast week, where he shared his incredible lowrider with our 6th grade students!
Not only did students get an up-close look at the car, but they also learned about the rich history of lowriders, connections to Chicano studies, and the cultural significance behind this unique art form. He even gave insight into the mechanics of lowriders, explaining how hydraulics work to make these cars move in such impressive ways.
It was an engaging, hands-on experience that brought history, culture, and science together in a memorable way. Thank you to Mr. Carrillo’s dad for taking the time to inspire and educate our students!
🌎 Earth Day Celebration at Our School! 🌱
We had a wonderful Earth Day filled with learning, teamwork, and growth!
A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers from the Wellesley Youth Group, who came all the way from Wellesley. They come every year to support our students. Your dedication makes such a difference!
Together, we worked in our garden, installing new garden beds, cleaning up the space, and planting new additions. Our partnership with Cooking With Kids made the experience even more meaningful as students connected gardening to healthy eating.
We were also excited to welcome Healthy Futures Inc., who spoke with our first graders about healthy snacks. They even provided delicious examples and helped students learn what it means to make healthy choices.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this Earth Day so special! 💚🌍
