The Cohasset Compass
Ever Onward ~ Moving Our Schools Into the Future
October 31, 2025
Dear Cohasset Public Schools Community,
Happy Fall 🍁
Last week, at the school committee meeting, our principals shared their School Improvement Plans (SIP). It was very exciting to see the alignment between the schools and to the new 2025 - 2030 Cohasset Strategic Plan and our 2025 - 2026 CPS District Goals. In their comments about their SIPs, the principals also highlighted how teacher goals and our professional development are also aligned to the work we are endeavoring to do in the district. The unifying message in our new strategic plan is that we are all - staff and students - learning, growing, and being inspired together to reach our goals. The schools' improvement plans codify that we are doing exactly that. If you weren't able to watch last week's committee meeting, I hope you will take a few moments to review the four SIPs (and the new Strategic Plan and 2025 - 2026 CPS District Goals if you haven't already) to see the alignment and to notice what your schools are working on this year.
- CPS Strategic Plan (2025 - 2030) and 2025 - 2026 CPS District Goals
- 2025 - 2026 CHS School Improvement Plan
- 2025 - 2026 CMS School Improvement Plan
- 2025 - 2026 Deer Hill School Improvement Plan
- 2025 - 2026 Osgood School Improvement Plan
Additionally, the work of our strategic planning committees has kicked off and each committee met for the first time this month. I'd like to thank the parents and caregivers, staff, and students who have volunteered to share their interest and expertise with us. I'm excited for the work we will do together this year and look forward to sharing updates from the committees with you via this newsletter. As a reminder, our committees are: the Project Based Learning (PBL) Steering Committee, the AI and Tech Task Force, and the CPS Communications Committee.
Ever Onward,
Sarah

What Expertise Can YOU Offer Our Students?
Cohasset is a community comprised of experts in a wide variety of fields. In order to deliver more authentic, hands-on, project-based learning experiences to students, the Cohasset School Committee, in collaboration with district leadership, is working to develop a "Community Resource Guide." This Guide will serve as an invaluable resource to our classroom teachers and school staff, as it will provide them with a comprehensive database of all stakeholders and interested parties who are willing to share their background, experience, and expertise in furtherance of our mission to Empower Students to Improve Communities.
There are many different ways in which one might participate in this endeavor, including classroom presentations, hosting or facilitating field trips, creating shadow or internship opportunities, or assisting with project-based learning experiences.
If you are willing to share your unique talents, passions, interests, and/or expertise, please click this link to fill out a brief interest form. We thank you for your willingness to volunteer your time in order to deliver impactful learning experiences to CPS students.
Onward and Upward,
Your School Committee
