More to explore

  • Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up. ๐Ÿ“† October 14th 4-7pm Invitation Only and October 22nd 4:30-7 open to all parents.
  • Pioneer Men's Water Polo Middle School Night. The Pioneer High School Menโ€™s Water Polo team invite Tappan students to their Middle School Night on ๐Ÿ“† Thursday, October 15th from 6-8 p.m. They'll be hosting a fun event at the high school to introduce middle schoolers to the sport, the team, and the coaches. This is a great chance for potential players to get to know the high school and meet some of their future teammates. Additionally, because water polo is a fall sport beginning in mid-August, it gives entering freshmen a chance to find their footing in a new environment before the first day of school. Learn more at www.pioneerpolo.com
  • The Parent Teacher Organization Council board has prepared a list of School Board Candidate Resources for voters to review while deciding how to vote in the upcoming election. Their goal is to collect ALL publicly available forums, interviews, and questionnaires in one easy-to-reference place. There are no endorsements or analyses in an effort to maintain overall neutrality as an organization.
  • AAPS Strategic Plan Community Meetings. AAPS is building its next strategic plan, which will serve as a roadmap that will guide work for the years ahead. This is your chance to share insights on our schoolsโ€™ current state and contribute to setting priorities for AAPS. Your input is critical to set priorities and make decisions that will impact our students and community.
    There are two community forums:
Pioneer High School Cafeteria on ๐Ÿ“† October 14th from 6:30 to 8 PM
Huron High School Cafeteria on ๐Ÿ“† October 15th from 6:30 to 8 PM
Meetings are open for parents, students, teachers, staff, local leaders, community members and everyone who cares about our schools. For more information, please email strategicplan@aaps.k12.mi.us.
  • Upcoming Parenting Workshops from Rec & Ed. Looking for practical strategies and support for navigating some of the challenges of parenting? Rec & Ed is offering two upcoming workshops for parents. Workshops are affordably priced, and scholarships are available. You may register for either workshop or both. The Power of Not Rescuing Your Child: Parenting Tips for Understanding and Responding to Childhood Anxiety on ๐Ÿ“† Sunday, October 25
Digital Balance: Smart Tech Habits for Families on ๐Ÿ“† Monday, October 26
  • Does your family use Ann Arbor Public Transportation? The Transportation Services Unit is asking you to complete this survey by October 31st, sharing your experiences and satisfaction with the current transportation system. Students, parents and guardians are important users of our transportation system and your feedback is particularly valuable. Responses will be used to help inform future transportation improvements in our community.
  • Want to keep up to date on the AAPS Board of Education meetings but can't always find the time to attend? We have good news! This year our PTO Council School Board Liaison will be providing summaries of school board meetings.
