Hello Pointer Families --

Due to additional time off for inclement weather after our last communication, we have again had to alter our schedule to make up for lost instructional time in order to meet the state mandated requirement.

The main change is making three early release Wednesdays (April 24, May 15, May 22) full days for all students.

We hope we are through with winter weather, but if any further changes are needed, we will continue to keep you posted.

Thank you for understanding.

To summarize:

  1. Classes will be held for middle/high school students Friday, April 19 with early dismissal at 12:33 pm. Elementary students will have the day off.

  2. Wednesday, April 24 will now be a full day for all students. Dismissal will be at 3:25 pm for elementary, 3:30 pm for middle/high.

  3. Wednesday, May 15 will now be a full day for all students. Dismissal will be at 3:25 pm for elementary, 3:30 pm for middle/high.

  4. Wednesday, May 22 will now be a full day for all students. Dismissal will be at 3:25 pm for elementary, 3:30 pm for middle/high.

  5. Monday, May 27 is still a day off for all students (Memorial Day).

  6. Classes will be held for middle/high school students Monday, June 3.

  7. Classes will be held for middle/high school students Tuesday, June 4.

what is the best way to make a dismissal change?

PLEASE FOLLOW ONE OF THE TWO STEPS BELOW:

1. Follow this link, http://mineralpointschools.org/mpsd/forms/elementary-dismissal-form/.

We print this off and deliver it to your child at the end of the day. You will receive a confirmation email.

2. Call the office at 987-0710. We will write a note and deliver it to your child at the end of the day.

You may notify the teacher ONLY IF you have completed one of the above preferred methods.

Please realize that staff do not always have time during the day to check their email. Also, if the classroom has a substitute teacher, their email is not checked, therefore the dismissal change would not get to your child.

ANY change in your PreK- 5 child’s dismissal needs to be communicated to the office BEFORE 2:00 PM for M, T, TH & F. All dismissal changes for Wednesday need to be submitted PRIOR TO 1:00 PM.

PLEASE make sure to call First Student, 987-3911 and make them aware of any bus riding changes. The elementary school is not responsible for that communication.
