GCPS Highlights
GCPS Graduation Rate Reaches Highest Point in a Decade for Second Year in a Row
GCPS is celebrating another milestone — our graduation rate is the highest it’s been in ten years, for the second year in a row! Additional details about the Class of 2025 will be shared with the Gwinnett County Board of Education during the Work Session on October 16, 2025.
Local educators honored as schools select 2027 Teachers of the Year
The first step of the district’s search for its 2027 GCPS Teacher of the Year (TOTY) is complete, and the local school Teachers of the Year have been designated as final selections in their schools. GCPS congratulates these educators for their positive impact on students.
How Does E-SPLOST Help My Child?
- Clean, safe, comfortable classrooms to learn in and lunchrooms to eat in.
- School safety, including school police vehicles, weapons detectors, and better visitor check-in systems.
- New and well-maintained buses for safe and reliable rides to and from school.
- Safe and well-lit athletic fields.
- Less crowding in schools through classroom additions.
- Learning tools like student devices, lab equipment, textbooks, digital resources, and musical instruments.
E-SPLOST funds provide essential support for school safety, facilities, technology, and learning tools, while allowing general fund dollars to stay focused on teaching and learning. Visit our website for more details on our Capital Plan and for more information about how we use E-SPLOST funds in GCPS.
Tuesday, November 4, is Election Day in Gwinnett. That’s when voters will decide whether to continue E-SPLOST. To vote, you must be registered by October 6. Visit www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/s/ to register, update your address, and check your voting location. Early voting begins October 14 at these locations.
GCPS SAT Results: Thousands of students taking the next step
GCPS students once again showed strong participation and achievement on the SAT, with more than 12,700 test-takers in the Class of 2025 — by far the largest number in Georgia. GCPS students earned an average score of 1003* (Evidence-Based Reading & Writing: 501, Math: 501. *Please note that individual mean scores are rounded to the nearest whole number. As a result, the sum of these rounded values may not precisely equal the combined mean score.)
An Invitation from the Gwinnett County Board of Education

College and Career Readiness: 2025 Congressional App Challenge
Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced the opening of submissions for his 2025 Congressional App Challenge (CAC), a nationwide competition encouraging students to develop their coding and programming skills while promoting STEM education. This nationwide effort allows students to compete against their peers by creating an application for mobile, tablet, or computer devices. The challenge invites students from Georgia’s 4th District to submit their original app creations for a chance to showcase their innovation, creativity, and technical expertise.
To enter, students must register on the Official Congressional App Challenge website. The deadline for app submissions is October 30, 2025, at noon, so students are encouraged to start working on their projects today!
