PTA Update from the Eagle's Nest
PTA Newsletter: Week of January 12, 2026
A message from the PTA Board
We are excited to be a full week back into the school year, and now things ramp up! I think my mind forgets how fast-paced the last half of the school year is. So my best advice is, choose what is right for your family. There will be lots of programs, events, concerts, and celebrations every month until the last day of school. It is a lot of fun, and we hope to see you there. To kick us off, this newsletter will include information about our events over the next six weeks (District BEF Auction Night, VIP & Me Dance, Hertiage Night... psst, there will be more added soon). Choose your adventure!
JK/Kindergarten Roundup: Every year without fail, I meet neighbors in the community who feel like they never heard about Kindergarten Roundup. If you, a neighbor, or friend has a 4 or 5 year old student in the Birmingham District, please share the info about enrollment services and our upcoming Roundup Event on January 27th; more information below.
Heritage Night: Every other year, our school hosts a very cool event that showcases the special cultural background of our student community. To do so, we ask that families volunteer to lead or partner on each of the rooms. We look forward to sharing your favorite music, art, dancing, food, or traditions. To learn more, please check out the Interest Form.
Cheers to 2026!
Jeanette Aiello, PTA President
Spread Love Not Germs
It is the time of year when everything is hot: flu, COVID, colds, strep throat, you name it, our kids have been passing it around. Please remind students to wash hands regularly and please don't send them to school if they are sick. If you would like to help combat the germs, consider donating to your teacher a container of Lysol/Clorox Wipes or Hand Sanitizer. It is amazing how excited sanitizing supplies make them 🤩
Stock the Lounge
Our teachers and staff are just like us...
Please help us bring a winter pick-me-up to our Bingham stars by stocking the staff lounge with delicious treats and a variety of caffeine options. Drop off an individually packaged snack, protein fix, or caffeine beverage to bring a bit of joy on these cloudy and cold winter days. Choose from an item on the Sign-up-Genius or one of your own fav's.
PTA Meeting: January 13, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
All Bingham Farms families are invited to join us for our monthly PTA meetings. We meet in the Media Center to share updates on school programs, vote on how to support our classrooms, and hear the Principal's report.

BEF Unabashed Bash: January 31st
The Birmingham Education Foundation's annual dinner and auction will take center stage in downtown Birmingham. Each year this event raises valuable funds to support all of our schools in the district. The BEF provides teacher grants for classroom enhancements, STEM events, author visits and more. To support the event, the Bingham Farms PTA has sponsored a Bogg Beach Bag complete with all the necessities to head to the pool or sunny weather. Please consider bidding on this or any of the other awesome prizes when the auction opens up at the end of January.
VIP & Me Dance: February 6th
Book your dinner reservations, dust off your dancing shoes, and ask your Very Important Person to A Night Under the Stars. This VIP & Me Dance is an annual tradition for Bingham Students, grades Pre-K to 2nd Grade. The event will take place in our school gym and is a night you won't want to miss.
- All attendees must have a ticket to attend.

Volunteer Opportunities: Now to June
Each newsletter, we will update volunteer opportunities for ways to get involved in the school and see your kiddos. No experience needed, just warm smiles and a willingness to help out. *Volunteer opportunities for class parties will be sent out by your Grade Connector. In the meantime, will you consider helping us in the Library, Cafeteria, or on the Playground?
*Please note on days when it the weather is too cold to go outside, we especially need volunteers to help supervise classrooms so that teachers can get much-needed breaks!

Shop to Support the PTA
Kroger Community Rewards
Help our school while you shop. Under your Kroger Plus Card Account > Rewards > Community Rewards, you can select an organization that a portion of your sale goes to support! Choose AC809 for Bingham Farms Elementary and our PTA gets a check with no extra steps after you sign-up.
Box Tops for Education
A great way to support the school is through Box Top$ for Education. Long gone are the days of clipping the barcodes of cereal boxes or soup labels. Download the app, select Bingham Farms Elementary, and each time you shop at the grocery scan your receipt. It will auto calculate the donation and send it to our school! It is easy, and you don't need to know which food or supplies qualify for credit - the app checks for you. Now download that app while you wait for the bus, or in the pick-up gathering zone. Thanks for supporting our school, and be sure to share with friends and family too!
