AMS Update

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Student schedules for the upcoming school year are now available in iPass. Many students may have already seen their classes and teachers through Google Classroom invites. These invites were generated automatically through a system linked to iPass, and I was unaware they would be sent before schedules were officially released. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Please note:

• School counselors will not return to the office until Monday, August 18th.

• There is still some schedule balancing and movement that may occur before the first day of school.

• Requests for team or teacher changes will not be accommodated.

We believe it is important for students to work with a variety of teaching styles. Rather than avoiding a challenge, we encourage helping your child learn how to advocate for themselves and communicate their needs when seeking support.

If you believe your child’s schedule contains an error (e.g., missing class, incorrect class), please contact the appropriate counselor by email:

• 6th Grade: Traci Bartlett – tbartlett@ashland.k12.ma.us

• 7th Grade: Maddie Collins – mcollins@ashland.k12.ma.us

• 8th Grade: Caroline Williams – cwilliams@ashland.k12.ma.us

Again, counselors will not respond until after they return next week and have time to review requests. We appreciate your patience as creating a schedule that meets the needs of all learners is a complex puzzle, especially in a year with significant changes to curriculum and teacher assignments.

Please know that your child may have a teacher they have had in the past, as some have changed grade levels or are the sole teacher of a subject. All teams at each grade level are balanced and work closely together to align practices.

If you have recently requested iParent access, your request has been approved as of today. If you still need access, please submit your request here, and I will approve it in the coming days.
