September 2026
Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year at Lincoln PK-8
Welcome Back!
Welcome to the start of the 2026-2027 School Year! We are excited to be back in school, have high expectations for our students, and look forward to a great year! As the year unfolds, if you ever have a question or concern, please contact your child’s teacher first. Although teachers are unable to answer phone calls during the school day, calls will be returned to you, so please leave a detailed voicemail. Our school phone number is 330-373-4500. Good communication between the school and the home is essential for your child’s academic success and safety. Our theme this school year is...
"GROWING TOGETHER"
Helping Your Child Succeed
As the school year begins, it is important to remember that your child's success relies on us working together. Please keep these important things in mind...
- Have your child in school and on time every day.
- Check your child’s folder daily for homework, notes, and behavior.
- Talk to your child about adhering to expectations in school.
- Set a time for going to bed to help your child get plenty of rest.
Attend Today...Succeed Tomorrow!
At Lincoln PK-8, we have high expectations for attendance. We strive for our students to be at school, on-time, and ready to learn at least 95% of the time. Last year, we made great strides in improving student attendance and we want to keep the ball rolling! Student attendance is one of the most important pieces in your child's academic success. Remember, if your child is ill, it is important that you contact us and upon their return, submit a written excuse as to why they were absent. Remember--every minute counts! Frequently arriving to school late will contribute towards absenteeism, disengagement and stress for your child. Please, make arriving to school on time a priority!
Final Forms
Please remember that each page inside your child/ren’s Final Forms must be completed, along with the final step of you electronically signing it no later than Friday, September 4, 2026. There are forms that your middle school student needs to sign as well. It is of the utmost importance that we have up-to-date information regarding telephone numbers, who is able to pick up your child, medical issues, pertinent permissions, and so on. Final Forms is where we get this information. Students that have incomplete Final Forms after September 4, 2026 will not be able to attend until the process is completed. If you need help or have questions, please call and one of our secretaries can walk you through the process. It is important to note that if you have a change of address, you must take your proof of residency to the Board of Education before the address change is official. We are unable to change your address at the building level, this process is done by the Board of Education only.
Immunizations
All students in Preschool, Kindergarten, and 7th grade must have updated shot records at school.
Any student missing shots will be excluded from school beginning Monday, September 14, 2026.
You can have your healthcare provider FAX your child's immunization record to (330) 373-4510.
Important Information About Student Pick-Up and Dismissal
Dismissal is a busy time in our building. To keep every student safe during dismissal, we must adhere to the following Lincoln guidelines:
- If you are picking up your child early, you must be in the office by 2:30, otherwise, your child will be dismissed their usual way.
- Only individuals listed in a child’s Final Forms are permitted to pick up that child. Anyone picking up a child needs to be prepared to show photo ID.
- All car riders should be picked up in the back of the building. Dismissal is 3:00-3:15 for K-5 students. The front and sides of the building are for buses and daycare only. Students may not be picked up from the bus lines.
- If you need to change the way your child gets home, please send a written note in with your child, and be as specific as possible to prevent confusion. We will not change your child's regular method of transportation unless a written note is provided on that day. For your child's safety, a telephone call is NOT SUFFICIENT.
Thanks for your understanding. We all want our children to be safe!
TESTING UPDATE
We will be administering the NNAT-3 assessment to all students in 2nd & 4th grades in October for the purpose of identifying those students who may be gifted in the area of Cognitive ability. If you have questions about this assessment, please reach out to your child's teacher.
