Message from our Principal Message from our Principal

Dear Washington-Caldwell Families,

Welcome back! We are excited to have our students and staff together again and are grateful for such a great start to the new school year. There has been wonderful energy throughout the building as students reconnect with friends and teachers, settle into classroom routines, and begin another year of learning and growth.

We are also very happy to welcome several new staff members to the Washington-Caldwell family this year:

  • Mrs. Marisa Joehnk โ€“ Director of Finance and Human Resources

  • Ms. Peyton Witt โ€“ Physical Education Teacher

  • Mrs. Megan Doyle โ€“ General Education Aide/4K

  • Mrs. Nicole Smith โ€“ Morning Secretary

  • Ms. Stephanie Bachofen โ€“ Special Education Aide

We are also excited to welcome back Ms. Karen Kaldor as our Afternoon Secretary !

We are excited to have each of them join our team and look forward to the talents, experiences, and enthusiasm they will bring to our students and school community. Please join us in giving them a warm Washington-Caldwell welcome!

A special thank you to our parents and families who helped make the start of the year even more welcoming for our staff. We greatly appreciate the coffee, snacks, treats, and other thoughtful items that were provided. These gestures mean a great deal to our staff and are another reminder of the strong sense of community that makes Washington-Caldwell such a special place.

As we begin the year, we look forward to continuing our partnership with families and working together to provide our students with a positive, engaging, and successful school experience. Thank you for your continued support of our students, staff, and school community.

Hereโ€™s to a wonderful 2026โ€“2027 school year!

Kevin

All students will have their individual school photos taken on the morning of Tuesday, September 15. Ordering pictures is completely optionalโ€”there's no obligation to purchase. If you're unsure, you're welcome to wait and decide after seeing the proofs.

Proofs will be sent home 2โ€“3 weeks following Picture Day. Be sure to also check your child's backpack for a paper order form. You can also order online using the following information:

Afternoon Car Rider Line information Afternoon Car Rider Line information

Starting Tuesday, September 8, we will begin dismissing car riders at 3:35 pm. Students who are picked up at least once a week should have a car number โ€” if you didn't get one and need a number, please let us know. Please display the number on your dashboard or visor, and let us know if you need a second number for another vehicle. This helps us see your number, have your child ready, and speed up the pick-up line.

Please remember to come in the parking lot entrance closest to Hwy 164 and form two lines of cars. It is important to pull forward as far as possible so that the car line does not back up on the road. If necessary, come in the second entrance and park until you can get in the line.

It is also important to pull up as far as possible when you get to the front of the line too.

All of us working together will help keep things running smoothly!

Absences, Late Arrivals, and Early Dismisals Absences, Late Arrivals, and Early Dismisals

Please inform the front office of your student's absence, late arrivals, or early dismissal. You can call the front office (before 9:00) or send an email to Nicole Smith at nsmith@washcald.com and Karen Kaldor at kkaldor@washcald.com This information is important to keep our school running smoothly.
