San Juan Open Enrollment for 26/27 NOW OPEN

San Juan Unified School District has opened its annual open enrollment period for the 2026-27 school year. Families have until 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, to apply for their student to attend a school other than their neighborhood school.

Families can log in to the Parent Portal to view their child’s assigned school for the 2026-27 school year. Both the current school and the next year’s assignment will be listed.

  • Families satisfied with their child’s assignment do not need to take any further action.

  • Families wishing to request a different school may submit an open enrollment lottery application.

Open enrollment is not first-come, first-served. Applications are entered into a computer-generated lottery system and may be submitted anytime during the enrollment window.

Important Student Medical Information Important Student Medical Information

Dear Families

For the safety of all students, district policy and state law requires that ALL medication including over-the-counter medications have a medication authorization form completed before any medication can be at school. Your child may not have medication at school (even in their backpack) for any reason without completing and turning in a medical from into the school. If medication is not required at school, please disregard this message.

If your child requires medication at school, please complete an Authorization for Medication Administration form which can be picked up at the school office. The first page must be filled out by parent/guardian, and the second page must be completed by the child’s doctor. Please note that the doctor must select one of the two (or both) authorizations for medication administration. (Your authorization selection on page 1 must match the doctor’s). We are unable to keep or administer your child’s medication at school without this form being completed and returned.

Please do not send medication to school with the student. A parent/guardian is required to drop off medication at school, and the nurse must first check the medication authorization form and medication before it can be left at school. This includes if the student has been authorized to self-carry their medication. The school should receive the medication in its original container with the attached label. The label should be intact, readable, and unaltered. It should include the following: • Student’s name • Licensed prescriber’s name • Medication’s name and the required dosage • Dosage frequency • Date the prescription was filled and medication expiration date. Over-the-counter medication must be in the original container, unexpired, and does not require a label but must match the doctor’s order on the medication authorization form. Medication cannot remain at school if it does not have the appropriate label, container, and the completed Authorization for Medication Administration form. If medication is found at school without the necessary requirements completed, the medication will be confiscated and must be picked up by an adult, it will not be sent home with the student.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in keeping all students safe at school.
