Back by popular demand, our Spring Family Dance is a night of music, food, friends, and fun! Join us in the auditorium from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, May 2.

• Want us to take care of dinner so you can dance the night away? Pizza is available by pre-order; only a limited number of slices will be available for individual sale. Find out details and place your order by 6 pm on Tuesday, April 29 here.
• We need your help to make the dance a success! Sign up for a volunteer shift here.
• We welcome a suggested donation of $5/family at the door or online before the event, here.
• At the dance, look for a special appearance from the JMRL Bookmobile and opportunities to contribute to Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week!
• Note this is not a drop-off event. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

At Hollymead, we're fortunate to have teachers and staff who inspire, guide, and nurture our students every day. Now’s your chance to show your gratitude during Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week, from May 5 to 9! Please make a donation to our fundraising campaign. Your contributions will help fund gifts and lunches for teachers, staff, bus drivers, cafeteria service, and custodians to honor their hard work. Every little bit makes a big impact!

Supplies in the teachers' lounge are starting to dwindle! Help us stock the lounge to help keep teachers and staff well supplied until the end of the year. Items can be purchased directly from our Amazon Wish List and shipped directly—easy and so appreciated!

Interested in getting more involved in the Hollymead Elementary School community? With many members of our board rolling off their terms, we are seeking new members to join the PTO! Fill out our form to express your interest or to see the other ways you can contribute your time and talent.

We also welcome you at our next PTO meeting on Thursday, May 15 at 7 pm in the Hollymead library.

Nominated by members of their school communities, award-winning teachers are selected for their ability to inspire a love of learning, set high expectations, respond to individual student needs, and foster meaningful connections with families. Do you have a child who will turn 5 by September 30? It’s time to get ready for kindergarten! Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) will open Kindergarten Registration online on Monday, April 7. Please help spread the word to neighbors, friends, or relatives who may be preparing for kindergarten.

ACPS's Extended Day Enrichment Programs (EDEP) serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade who are currently enrolled in an Albemarle County Elementary School. To keep the process fair for enrolling for the 2025-2026 school year, EDEP will use a random selection (lottery drawing) to offer available spots. The registration window for Hollymead opens at 8 am on Friday, April 25, and closes at 11:59 pm on Friday, May 2. Learn more on the ACPS website.
