This week we were visited by local author Rachel Vogel. She was able to see every grade level, and share her stories with them. These stories are centered around animal characters who go on adventures in the wilderness. In her discussion with students, she highlighted the fact that she used her own personal memories and past events as inspiration, and that she didn't know that she wanted to be a writer until later in life. She told the students that they too can be authors or illustrators, and in fact they probably already are! We truly enjoyed her visit!

Important Dates to Remember:

"Arf on the Housetop" will be Monday December 18! The class show times are as follows. Parents are encouraged to attend!

  • Students should arrive at school by 9:00 daily. This ensures that they are not marked tardy, and that they are able to start they day smoothly. When students arrive after 9:10, their classmates are mostly already settled in and the teacher is ready to begin the day. Arrival after 9:10 causes a disruption to the class as well as the student arriving late. Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.
  • The transportation department works very hard to accommodate transportation changes. As a reminder, any changes in transportation need to be made by 11:00 a.m. Please ensure that someone is home and visible to receive your children upon drop off each day.
