New Years, New Goals, Be You
As the calendar turns and the 'New Year, New Me' slogans start to gain momentum, I’ve been thinking a lot about a different approach. Instead of trying to become a brand-new person this month, what if we focused on becoming more of who we already are?

Message for the Week:
Message from Mr. Tejkl
Bring on the New Year...
Good morning!
I hope you had an amazing winter break and are ready for a great start to the New Year!
We are a few weeks into the New Year, and for many, that initial burst of "January Adrenaline" is starting to fade. The 5:00 AM alarm feels a little harsher, and the new routine feels a little more...blah. If you are feeling resistance right now, I want you to know something important: this isn’t a sign that you are lazy or undisciplined. It is often just a sign that you are wearing a shoe that doesn't quite fit. Too often, we build our resolutions based on who we think we should be, adopting habits from "Best Of" lists or social media that ignore our natural rhythms and our unique personalities.
True motivation doesn’t come from forcing yourself to grind; it comes from alignment and being consistent. When your goals resonate with who you actually are—not who you wish you were—discipline stops feeling like a punishment and starts feeling like momentum. So, take a 2nd look at the intentions you set on January 1st. Read them out loud and listen to your body. If a goal makes you feel heavy, anxious, or exhausted just thinking about it, it is likely a goal born out of "should." But if it makes you feel motivated—maybe a little nervous, but ultimately excited—that is the sweet spot of alignment.
The "Be You" approach means you don’t have to abandon your ambition, but you might need to change the method to match your reality. If you hate the gym, stop forcing yourself onto a treadmill and go hike a trail instead. If you aren't a morning person, stop shaming yourself for sleeping in and move your focus time to the evening when your brain is actually awake. Success isn't about twisting yourself into a completely different person this year; it is about finding the specific path that allows the real you to thrive.
Have a great rest of your Sunday!
Quote of the week to reflect on:
"New Year. New Feels. New Chances. Same dreams, fresh starts. I dare you to believe in yourself. You deserve all things magic."

Sincerely,
Tucker Tejkl
